FD Pedals in FC?

I don't even own a FC (yet) but I'd love to know if this is possible cuz the FD pedals look like they're of a much higher quality than the FC ones, not to mention they look much more aesthetically pleasing to my eyes.

Has this ever been done?

This is a bizarrely specific detail to begin obsessing over, especially for an as-yet owner.

We would have to assume that the general configuration of the alloy FD pedals is similar to the FC parts- i.e., leverage ratios, pivot diameters, etc.- and swapping over is a matter of detail, not complete re-engineering.
(I stipulate that I'm willing to accept the assumption only in the context of this discussion as I haven't any FD pedal assemblies lying about to look at and would guess that even "details" could be dealbreakers.)
Realize that the swap dominoes to the clevis pins that connect the pedals to the pushrods...these clevii(?) will of necessity be wider to fit the fatter alloy structure.

I'd think a mod such as this would be trivial if one was building a tube framed FC but kinda excessive for anything less.

Well, I've been obsessing over every single little detail on these cars and reading up as much as I can, and I thought it'd look cool...
Seemed like a valid question to me at the time. :dunno:

Basically, It probably wouldn't be a straight swap like I thought it would be. Makes sense considering the generation difference.
Thanks for your reply, regardless!

The FC pedals are aluminum as well. Take the rubber pads off and you now have aluminum pedals minus the hole pattern of course. Last post in this thread shows what I did to mine.

Drilled holes and added grip tape and an aluminum pedal cover for gas and dead pedal.

That's...bizarre.
Not mad about the dead pedal, but that might do the trick.

You mentioned a kit in the post on that other thread, was it RX series specific or was it just a run-of-the-mill floating aluminum pedal?

It was just a universal pedal kit. I don't remember where I got it. I kinda think Autozone but can't remember. It's been at least 12 years or so ago.
