Alternator wiring HELP!!!

I just bought a 87 turbo with a 91 13B motor in it that is completely hacked! For some reason they cut the plug off for the alternator. I think I found the wires in the same wiring loom as the big alternator wire that goes to the battery. There is black with stripe and a white with black stripe. If those are the correct two wires I am not sure which one goes on top and which one goes on bottom or... When looking at the wiring diagram, which goes to terminal (L) and which goes to terminal (R). Can anyone look on thier car and tell me?

Also, what sort of damage should I expect from running without that hooked up?

Thanks in advance!

I looked on the fsm which is where I found what the terminals do but I still don't know which wire goes where. Is there one that shows which wire goes on which terminal?

Thanks guys for your help!!!

When I turn on the ignition the Black /w white stripe had power so I hooked that up to the (R) terminal and the other to the (L) Terminal and now when my car runs, my battery gets charged! SWEET!!!

Thanks again!
