How much more complicated, or simpler would this be for the 13b?

just change the rear housing to the automatic transmission housing and it will be no different than the 20b setup

Thanks man. I already have a automatic rear housing. can I use my FD's stock clutch pedal or do I have to get a F-body/GTO/Vette clutch pedal?

Use your stock pedal, but the slave cylinder and bearing are changed out.

I have my driveshaft and torque arm for sale from my conversion.

IronMdnX, what did you do for the clutch pedal stop and also how far did you shave down the face of the bell housing to get the input shaft deep enough into the counter weight?

Bellhousing is machined down .25" - .30". I did adjust the stop on the clutch pedal following the tilton slave directions to prevent over travel. It worked with the factory master till it started leaking then I replaced it with a tilton unit like the v8 guys

after doing a little more searching I learned it is irrelevant as we are using different clutches so it seems like getting the longest piston available and shaving the back down to the desired legnth is the best idea

Just FYI, converting the t56 to a slave and lever design has been done and fit into an RX7. I forget the guys name who did it but it was on the v8rx7forum, but the owner of the forum turned out to be a dink and closed the forum hopefully the information was passed over to the new site norotors.com.

the information is still out there, the new forum (can't name names, but google no rotors) and if you ask nicely enough you should get all the info you need if it hasn't already been posted somewhere over there.

T56 update:

there has always been the question as to whether the T56 can shift at high rpm....

i run an F body Camaro 99 garden variety trans from a boneyard. it had around 60K on it when i started running it in my fd in 2010.

i finally had a chance to go thru the gears at the Texas Mile. all shifts at 8800+. the trans grabbed gears as fast as i could move the lever.

so from my experience an normal T56 works fine.

love it and my Quartermaster double disc. running around 575 w a 2 rotor w a 2000 pound springset in the QM.

the thread is about the T56.

it has been speculated that it has a problem w high rpm shifts. i purposely run a boneyard 60 K trans to explore this question. after a number of years i had an opportunity to go thru the first 5 gears and found no problem w close to 9000 rpm shifts... 'just an fyi.

there is a Texas Mile thread in the third gen section.
