The trick to make it fit is to chill the 20b block in a large commercial fridge to shrink the motor , then wrap it in dry ice, and then quickly install into said project fd. Once thawed, it will expand and a tight fit and clean install results. Don't forget to add oil to the recipe!

I inflated my FD, much easier than than freezing the engine block. Once inflated you have about 5 seconds before the air escapes and traps the engine in an unwanted position.

since i dont have a large freezer or an air compressor, i let mine sit in the FL sun for about four hours.....expands the metal and allows for easy engine install

i couldn't afford a freezer, a heater or the sun. i just went to the DMV and City Hall and had my 13B's name officially changed to 20B. as a matter of fact, i had my FB's name changed to FD. so, yeah, now i have a 20B FD. i'm awesome.

seriously though, the simple answer is it's not going to just bolt right in. there are a few ways to go about it, some are better than others. the point is ... research.

look at these:

The word swap is what gets us. After doing one, its not an engine "swap" more like a replace-half-the-car. LOL

You aint never lied! Actually just diving in and ACTUALLY doing some work is how I was able to move my engine back. Hell I'm actually getting ready to install my 6 speed t56 with the fd manuel tranny bellhousing. After playing with some parts laying around, I'm confident I can pull it off without having to buy new parts to convert to a push style clutch that's required when using the auto bellhousing.
