Anyone using a side draft setup that is using a SARD fuel pressure regulator?

I cannot find any specifications regarding pressure, can't get ahold of the company nor can I find info online about it other than a **** ton of places to purchase it

I need it to be able to go as low as 3.5psi

SARD fuel regulator offers appropriate fuel pressure for high-performance application. SARD fuel pressure regulator also allows an increase of factory injector discharge rate by configuring fuel pressure.

Referring to factory injector discharge rates implies its for injection. And at double the price of a simple Holley makes me think your looking for more bling than anything... Looked up a couple Aeromotive pieces and still they were half of that Sard unit. Still way overkill for a carbed 12a

much more realistic option. I have a friend that runs this and it is perfect. The Aeromotive you showed would be cranked all the way down so it still may be a bit much

 

I forgot to mention that this is an S5 streetport carb'd

and I can buy this never been installed new opened box off my friend for 20. I'm trying to save 120 dollars here instead of buying the aeromotive one which was recommended by my local rotary shop and I trust his judgement.


I have that and I hate it, I'm going back to pump in tank using a 2nd gen stock fuel pump (the car is a 2nd too but no one knows **** about carbs in that section)
I also have the regulator and it works okay, this is why I'm asking these things.

 

ok i was assuming when you were talking 3.5 lbs that you were running a nikki. When it comes to dropping pressure from an injected pump to carb pressure I have no clue but for 20 bucks you can easily make your money back if it doesnt work out. Good luck

 

Don't get the Holley regulator. They are crap. I've had 2-3 of them and they don't work right. The pressure is never accurate, and it bounces all over the place. People say that you can open them up and clean out the metal burrs in them and then they work much better. I don't buy that. I took mine apart and looked over the whole thing. No metal burrs anywhere, and no matter what I tried it still didn't work right. The Holleys are just good for paperweights. You get what you pay for.

Get a Mallory FPR, and you'll be much happier. They are higher quality, and will give you an accurate consistent pressure unlike the cheapo Holley regulator. Sure you'll spend a little more, but when you buy a junk one and then end up buying a nicer one the second time around you'll be wishing you weren't so cheapo from the start.

well said and agreed. I am ready to throw my holley regulator in the garbage. I would feel bad selling it to anyone, even if it has only had about 20g of fuel through it.

 

i took mine off too!

mazda wants 4.3psi and 1500CC/30 seconds for the PP engine

the carter pump manages 4.3psi but only about 1200cc/30 seconds....

 

okay from thorough internet searching, I found that the lowest it goes is 20psi so the SARD wont work for anyone future reference.
