Will a FC waterpump housing fit on a TII swapped FB

Im in the process of rebuilding my TII swap FB, and part of that is a custom V-mount.
The current radiator placement places the cap too low for a proper fill and I need a cap at a higher point. It seams that the second gen sytle thermostat housing would be perfect.

Now I feel silly saying this, but I dont know what waterpump housing I have. I'm fairly certain that its a 12a unit. I am currently running a JDM S5 13bT engine, with SE front cover and oil pan. My question is; can I run a FC style waterpump/t-stat housing with the integrated pressure cap on this engine combination. or what do I need to modify?

I just read this this morning.

Is your current water pump housing iron? If so it is a FB style one. S4's have the filler cap on the thermostat, so you'll want one of those (the S5 doesn't have the cap on there). In order to get the FC water pump housing on there with the SE front cover a very small amount of grinding is needed on the water pump housing. Once you go to fit it together you will see where it hits. A grinder/dremel etc will do the job just fine.

Another thought - I'm pretty sure FB and S4 thermostat necks share the same bolt size/pattern, you could always try to just put the S4's t-stat neck onto the FB wp housing...

Thanks for the info; Im fairly certain I have a S5 waterpump housing on there now. its alluminum, and has a 3 bolt plastic t-stat outlet with no cap. I dont remember doing it, but it looks like I ground it to fit (I did the original swap almost 10 years ago, when I was 17)

Im on the search for a S4 housing then. Check out my other thread for some cool shots of the V-mount

Yeah if it has 3 bolts and the plastic t-stat housing it's a s5. Very minor grinding is needed so it's something you could easily forget doing after 10 years lol. Only reason I remebered it is becuase I had my wp housing off a few weeks ago haha.
