recently i blew a fuel pump fuse that kept blowing. i discovered this wire hanging and hitting the side of the carburetor. i can't find where it connects to or if its even suppose to be in the car since the first owners did some of his own wiring.

 

I don't believe that wire should be there. try cutting the connecter off and taping the end of the wire off. i can't recall off hand where the pump circuit runs to/from but its possible that the wire is causind a gremlin some where. drive without the wire hanging there and see what happens. it probably shouldn't be left to hang anyway. good luck

why do you think the previous owner put in that wire?

 

Looks like he's installed a battery feed wire to some equipment since removed. Disconnect it/take it out if you can.

 

ya, ukcodger, I think ur right there is no wire that i can think of that goes there, and i can't think of any sensor that would feed from there. take it out...

 

thats some home made ****...just take it off...
