where to add seafoam/oil on SE 13b?
2 Attachment(s)
Where is the best place to introduce seafoam for cleaning treatment or oil for winter storage with the F.I. SE? I used to use the brake booster vacuum line, but I read somewhere on here it only goes to the rear rotor. What about the large rubber line that bypasses the butterflies in the throttle body?(pic01) Everytime I pull the one end off, the car dies... What about one of the two small vacuum lines right behind the alternator?(pic02,03) Does one of these feed into both rotors?
I've studied every vacuum diagram I could find, I'd like a definative answer from a fellow owner. Could someone post a photo or better diagram please? |

pic01 that wouldn't fit in prev.post...

When I ran it through my SE I just dumped the bottle into the tank.

You could maybe take that line off, put it in the can, then start the car? Might have to keep the rev's high to suck it in.
|
Just put it in the gas tank and call it a day... As far as oil for storage, can't help you.
|
As said ad it to fuel but burn that fuel before storage. Then just have fresh gas with stabil if your gonna store it for winter.

Does anyone see any harm in trying to get oil for winter storage introduced through the large hose in pic01? It seems like a real PITA to try and spray oil into each rotor housing and try to get all the faces of the rotor to store it for winter. It will be stored and not started for at least 4-5 months, and I want the inside of the engine treated with something...Nobody has any different vacuum diagrams than the commonly found ones?

Remove distributor rotor, remove ECU fuse, unplg any vaccume line on intake manny. insert vaccume line into oil container, insert key into ignition, turn engine over. This is what i did prior to my last deployment. I marked the container with a sharpie marker before i turned motor over and the engine drew in about 5 ounces. once I was satisfied with the oil consumption i removed the vaccume line from container and rotated the engine over for about 5 more seconds to lubricate the engine. When i was gone i hade my GF go about once a month to the storae unit and turn they key for 5 more seconds and leave. when i got home plugged everything back in. primed the carb and fired up right away. I also put a fuel preservative in the tank.

Any vacuum line? One of the two that I have pictured above? They terminate into hard lines right behind and below the alternator, but I don't know where the other ends end up at...
