Now that I have my answer i have another question. I am 18 and have changed 4 engines (1 by myself) and I am new to the Rotary thing (this the first car in my name) and I wanna know what would be a better thing to do A.) Port my 12A and slam a turbo on it then a new Carb....R.B. Headers new intake...do the whole nine yards...or B.) Put in a 13B Turbo and do all the above stuff minus adding a turbo. so what would be best

if u wanna go turbo...its proly better to swap so u got fuel injected

No way!!! It is MUCH easier to go turbo using a carb. Plus, stock for stock, the 12a can take more boost than the GSL-SE's 13b engine, and the 12a has more potential for porting.

If you know what you're doing it doesn't cost much. I'm 17 with a shitty job and it wasn't much of a problem for me to go turbo. As long as you stick with a 12a blowthrough carb setup with a TII turbo, it shouldn't cost much at all.

On that comment, the 13b came with 3mm apex seals which would do much better than the 2mm seals on the 12a for containing boost pressure over time (engine longevity). Also, the 13b engine has much more displacement (1308 vs. 1176 cc's) which would generate more power after your turbo is installed, and the SE will have a larger engine oil cooler mounted in the airdam where it will decrease thermal load better than the stock 12a beehive - if you choose to stick with that.

It's important to remember that the turbo is going to increase horsepower at the expense of thermal load to the internal engine and lubricants, and the 13b from the factory is better equipped to take this heat, and will also provide more horsepower at the end.

Those extra cc's may not seem like much, but on a 4-port motor, ported for turbo, you will generate a lot more power and heat over the same setup on a 12a. Grab some lightened turbo rotors out of a TII engine and you're making even more power. HTH,

The 12A's in RX-7's, all had 3MM apex seals too.

12a = 200 lbs

12a's also came with 3mm apex seals, and are 4 port. The GSL-SE's came 6port. The "beehive" oil cooler works fine, my car will will never go past 1/3 on the gauge no matter how hard it's driven. Talk to Robery(www.rotaryshack.com), stock for stock, the 12a handles boost better than the GSL-SE's 13b.

As for what makes more power. My mods are in my sig, and I raced my car against a car with this setup: 13b streetport, freshly rebuilt, S5 Turbo, 3" exhaust, big frontmount intercooler, jspec TII tranny(shorter gears than the american), piggy backed ecu, and a lot of little things I cant remember. This car easily has three times the $$$ into it than mine, and you wanna know who won when we raced,??? Neither one, we went from 30-100, and it was DEAD EVEN. Both of us at 12psi.

Just wait until I put on a intercooler and upgrade from the stock ignition to a MSD :)
