thank you!. i have to wait for it to dry before i ca install it. there is some major man handling involved in getting the front and rear on. i dont need to go and put big old hand prints in the paint cuz im inpatient.

ill definately post up when its on

warwickben 03-02-08 09:06 AM

nike kit, can you send a link where you got it(if its still made)

o yeah i hate you all with fb's. there like no kits made for sa's. besides mariah. which are not bad looking.

2cute 03-02-08 10:20 AM

click me for kit.

the front bumper i have is the top one (obviously)

looks like the rear valance might be gone. if not completely for a bit anyhow.

lol. yeah well next will be a FB with the mariah gtu kit (iirc its the gtu. its the one thats super super wide.)

just what i need though another car to be a money pit lol.

oh and for the record i have a very weird kit. my side skirts are different than the ones on the site and my rear spoiler (which isnt pictured) is different too.

teddyrx2 03-02-08 12:46 PM

wow that came out really good...good job schools

flight_of_pain 03-02-08 12:50 PM

ive found that the easiest way to mount that front is with two people, one on each end. that keeps you from putting a ton of stress on one area, with two of ya you can put a little stress across the whole thing and slip it on.

Might of been better to fully mount before painting, remove, then paint and put back on for a good idea of exactly what ur up against.

Unless of course you're already in the process of doing just that.... I used to HATE installing fresh painted parts when I did autobody work...

Looking good.

the kit was already mocked up and necessary body work to accommodate fitting was done prior to paint. it would make no sense to have painted then attempted to do body work after.

i just happen to know that this particular piece is a pain in the ass to install. yes it was made from a mold but not all the pieces come out exactly the same nor do they fit exactly the same.

as for using 2 people. yes it does make it easier due to being able to hold things in place however one thing to consider is that fiberglass no matter how thick is brittle in nature and using 2 people to push it into place or attempt to stretch it over the existig bumper causes more strain on the piece.

That kit looks just like this one.http://www.raceonusa.com/index.asp?P...OD&ProdID=6203 same thing?

2cute 03-03-08 01:53 AM

similar but substantially different. especially the sides and front.

jshiz 03-03-08 10:33 AM

oh. The rear had me confused since they look identical but the more i look at it the fronts ae different, i really can'n tell until i see your sides on your car.
POST PICS. (i curious lol)

2cute 03-03-08 10:49 AM

i have to wait for it to completely cure before i can put it on. hopefully today but probably tomorrow.

warwickben 03-03-08 03:34 PM

can you post pics of how it mounts. i have all ways wounded how they are.

duffman692002 03-03-08 11:40 PM

Nice color, can't quite tell what it is though. Looks like a gun metal color or is the flash playing tricks on me? Looking forward to pics of the completed car.

Kerebrus 03-04-08 12:30 AM

I prefer no sideskirts. The car still lines up with the front and rear kit. I've never liked side skirts on an FB unless if they are molded..

chris_g 03-04-08 12:40 AM

Looks like what I have to do to my kit if I ever get around to it.

I got a good deal on the side skirts/rear fache and 3 piece spoiler.

Now they all need body work and I cant find the time to do it.

I really need to find a place at my college where I am able to do that kind of thing.

Yours looks great. Make sure to get pictures of how you mount the rear fache. I want to know how many rivets I will have to be adding. Thanks!

its flat black. like i said the clear wasnt dry so it still had a bit of a gloss to it. as it dried out it started to look amazing. now that its totally dry im in love with my car all over again. i got the front and sides on today before i ran out of light and energy. plus the back is being a bitch. so i decided it has tomorrow written all over it. i have learned the more tired and annoyed i get the more likely i am to make a mistake so its better to walk away

as for mounting points the front has 4 screws and 5 rivets and the sides are the same 4 screws and 4 rivets. its looking like im going to be able to get the rear on with 4 screws and 4 rivets. but its going to depend on how it hangs on the corner that way. id really like to not have to rivet all the way around but we will see tomorrow.

warwickben 03-04-08 05:05 AM

so you just have to find spots to screw and rivet that are hidden. when your done can you take pics. i iam allways wanting to learn.

2cute 03-04-08 09:02 AM

lol thanks captain obvious.

the point youre missing is that its fiber glass and relatively thin fiberglass at that (in the grand scheme of things not really but for where it is yeah it is) even if i mount/attach it where i want to (all hidden places) that doesnt mean its going to cooperate and hang properly on the corner.

as for pictures of where its mounted all pieces will be different (but ill take them for you anyhow) and have to be mounted differently. not all cars are the same and not all pieces of molded fiberglass are the same (in fact they are never the same)

2cute 03-04-08 10:40 AM

so i took some crappy pics last night and this morning. pics are horrible but kinda gives an idea how it looks. once everything is on and i can wash the car ill post good pics.

^she already has one on it

this is the first two tone fb that i like. nice car. i think it might look better wingless but i'm very baised lol

RX-7 Chris 03-04-08 03:12 PM

If you look close at the pics, it has a wing.

82transam 03-04-08 06:15 PM

My bad guys, only the first pic loaded before when I posted that, hard to see in that pic. I see the rest of them now...

FDSeoul 03-04-08 07:35 PM

2cute-from seeing you sanding the kit and now the progress you have made the kit on the car, shit looks great. nice a clean- classic 100%. keep it up.

FDSeoul 03-04-08 07:39 PM

hey 2cute------------------ after the exterior is porned out pimp style. when are you planning on addressing the power end. HP HP HP HP HP HP HP HP. knowing you, i am sure it wont be to far in the distant future

there is literally nothing i can do except porting to make any more power from this car na. so maybe thats next on the list. idk yet.

i know i dont want to go forced induction on this car. i want to keep this car relatively stock. well not stock obviously but....you know what i mean. i have my spec for that.

i think im going to find another FB and get myself a 20b (er attempt to find one anyhow) if not ill just get a 13brew.

but next on the list of things to do to this car is interior. im going to completely redo everything.

i still dont know how i feel about the spoiler. its looks far better than it did when the rest of the car was stock and it was on there.

unfortunately of all the choices i have i think this is the most aesthetically pleasing to me. with the kit i dont like the FB without a wing. stock i like no wing. i dont like the low 3 piece and this wing is what goes with this kit. so its staying. till i can figure something else out anyhow

OnlyOnThurs 03-05-08 09:34 AM

Nice job Jenn!!!

2cute 03-05-08 10:02 AM

thanks

blwfly 03-05-08 10:24 AM

looks really good
i think i have the same kit.
front skirts and bumper.
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...4&d=1190743674

btw i like what you achived looks great

2cute 03-05-08 10:44 AM

yeah you do have the same kit. the key different between the one you and i have and the others is the side skirts. if you look at most of them they tops of the sides dont taper like ours do. they are square and cover everything but the doors on the sides and the ones we have are a lok "chunkier" looking more aggressive IMO

thank you.

its funny i like it a lot im very happy with the way it turned out but i have a very hard time with aesthetic change so im still adjusting to it. i did this with my sentra too when i put the c/f hood and c/f windsplitter on.

2cute 03-05-08 10:48 AM

update:

everything is finally on. filthy but on. it needs to be cleaned horribly.

the rear valance was the biggest pain in the ass.

my car had been rear ended a few months ago by some dumb bitch in a chevy p/u truck. what i hadnt realized was that it had pushed the bumper out horribly on the sides which made my life impossible. i had to pull the bumper in with spacers but now that its all handled im happy.

ill try to take pics later today.

blwfly 03-05-08 11:11 AM

you pop vivited it on??

i thought we could just use sheet metal screws and screw the damn thing on?

2cute 03-05-08 11:21 AM

on the sides where the skirt goes into the door there are 4 rivets. keeps it secure. i suppose you could use screws but they have bigger heads and might look weird.

the front bumper on my car is pushed in in the middle a bit more than i liked and the center of the valance looked a bit funny so i riveted on the front a few rivets but they are painted flat black and anyone other than me is unlikely to notice them and then because my damn rear bumper was all messed up as i already mentioned the valance refused to stay flush with the bumper guard so i used rivets to hold it in place again they are flat black and hard to notice.

teddyrx2 03-05-08 12:40 PM

the car came out really nice...the whale tail shit needs to go unless you plan on going in the ocean some time soon...

djessence 03-05-08 01:08 PM
