Any anyone here used any of the Redline Water Wetter or similar product?

Does it really work?

How does it work?

Are any of the claims about that stuff true?

Is it something just for race cars or will it help out a daily driver?

i have used it on a crx i once had. did not work. however, i think it only really works when all cooling system components are 100%. my radiator was not all that good.

I use water wetter on all my daily vehicles - 91 Infiniti G20, and 95 Nissan Altima. I always maintain a good cooling system. But I cannot tell you the difference with water wetter or not since I always use it after I change the coolant. However, my temperature gauge will never move once in normal engine operation temperature no matter sitting in 100+ deg. traffic or redlining it. I would recommend the product for added safety. I trust Redline product, and $7 for every coolant change (every two years for me) is not a bad deal.

I will add water wetter into my SA22C's coolant after the radiator rod out.

However, nothing is better than a properly maintained cooling system.

The water wetter site has a better explanation but essentially it causes localized boiling to recondense before thermal runaway starts.

However normal antifreeze already contains these chemicals. Adding water wetter to water and antifreeze will create a small benefit but the big benefit is if you add water wetter to pure water.

Antifreeze is a good thing but pure water has greater heat capacity. Water wetter is perfect if you are on the edge and an antifreeze/water combination doesn't quite cut it or if your racing organization will not allow slippery antifreeze on the racetrack.

If you've got heat problems, the best thing is pure water and water wetter (but of course not in the winter) otherwise water and antifreeze is usually good enough (the extra corrosion inhibitors and lubricants make the decision for me).

We run Water Wetter in our VRA Sprint car and it lowers temps greatly, but also we only run water and no anti-freeze by rules.

So it works for a 600+hp chevy 360 :D

I used it once. I don't really remember it helping or hurting anything.

I swear by the stuff. it breaks the surface tension of the fluid for better cooling. it really works.
