how the hell do you get the carb bolted on inside the hat? Thats funny. I like it.

mwatson184 04-19-04 04:06 PM

Enclosures like that are for people who don't feel like taking the time to modify a carb properly for boost. They are extremely turbulant and flow like shit.

Sgt Fox 04-19-04 04:12 PM

that is soo ugly

seanrot 04-19-04 04:42 PM

WOOOOLLLLFFFF thats an ugly box. some paint and stickers might help it make power:)

I think it demonstrates pure enthusiasm and determination.

As an artist, I see art.

red13brx7 04-19-04 08:34 PM

Well if it works, I guess I would buy one, but I think I would rather mod the carb.. haha

Sorry not everyone has the money to buy a bunch of bolt-ons like you.

Dude, WTF are you talking about. There are no "Bolt-Ons" in a Turbo FB except the Car-Tech Kits of the 80's.

What you see on ebay there - is a PIECE OF SHIT, and it's not a "Car-Tech" anything, like the seller states in the auction.

mwatson184 04-19-04 09:48 PM

It costs around 50 dollars (or less) to modify a carb for boost (holley, demon, barry grant). The only thing you really need to buy is nitrophyl floats and a rebuild kit. And seeing as the guy is a master fabricator, he could easily creat a budget carb hat.

IMO, carb enclosures suck.

You have no fucking appreciation for custom work.
That's my point.

The seller never stated it was car-tech anywhere in the auction if that's what you meant.

My mistake on the "Car-Tech" part in his listing. - But
it's still a POS. I wonder why he ended the sale early?

Anex 570 04-19-04 10:04 PM

Yes this is a piece, and wtf you guys talking about bolt ons being expensive? That right there is a bolt on plus junk.

Sterling 04-19-04 10:09 PM

Some of you guys should hang with the uppity Porsche crowd.
:p:

Putting the carb in a box seems harder to me. You will need to run a fuel line into the box then to the carb. And how the hell are you going to seal the throttle cable?? Does anybody know if this type of setup runs any better?

weird.

karism 04-20-04 05:48 AM

Maybe a bit of cleaning and polishing will make it look real nice?

I like it,the guy is creative!

is the airbox required??
can't the turbo piping be hooked straight up to the barrels?

Not if the carb isint boost prepped. This is the lazy way out IMHO, as was stated before in this thread.
