Another weekend with a substantial amount of progress! Woooohoooo!!!!!

Had a little trouble, but we finally got the front suspension back together!

http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/3...s0011on.th.jpg http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/7...s0022aw.th.jpg

Then we put the GSL-SE drive shaft in and connected it to the GSL-SE rear axle.

It's been a long time coming, but after 3 months, the beast is FINALLY back on it's own feet (figuratively speaking)!!!!! Finally, it is off of the Jack Stands! Oh man, I can't wait! Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

Got a lot accomplished over the long weekend!!!

Sunday:

Got the turbo, intake manifold and carb put on!

http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/1...k0013as.th.jpg http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/7...k0026xg.th.jpg

http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/3...k0033ah.th.jpg http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/6...k0046qp.th.jpg

Monday:

Made like 150,000 trips to Lowe's and Home Depot. But we still managed to mount the intercooler.

http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/8...k0051fl.th.jpg http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/1...k0063hy.th.jpg

http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/3...k0076dn.th.jpg http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/5...k0085tk.th.jpg

http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/7...k0095by.th.jpg

We also mounted one of the rear fenders! That yellow stuff you see is "Great Stuff" expanding foam insulation. It is going between the stock fender and the wide body fender. It should help give some support to the fiberglass.

http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/2...k0102bh.th.jpg http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/5...k0116dd.th.jpg

http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/5...k0123zi.th.jpg http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/8...k0135ex.th.jpg

Much thanks again to my "big brothers" for all the help! :)

Another weekend with a substantial amount of progress!! woot! We were aiming to have it started by now, but unfortunately, that was just not possible :( The good news is, we got the stainless steel oil cooler lines installed, mounted the oil cooler, mounted the radiator, finished the intercooler piping, and the BOV is mounted and installed!! Thanks to Masin's buddy for the weld! Sorry I never met him, and I don't know his name, but I like to give credit where credit is due . . .

We also managed to mount the other rear fender! Woot!

http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/7...40189vm.th.jpg http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/7...40214ys.th.jpg

I also have some parts for sale that I scalped off of the Parts car I bought a couple of weeks ago. Go here to see if there is anything you need!

Thanks again to everyone for coming over and helping!

Is that kink in the one oil cooler line bad?

Skylance 06-05-06 10:54 AM

No, We are gonna try to un-kink it, but fortunately it is not completely closing off the line. So even if we can't un-kink it, once we get the car started and get some pressure in the oil system it "should" expand what's left of the kink in the hose.

You have to much fun with that smoke wrench.

nice! another wide body taking shape

boost guage placement is awesome!! How easily does it fit in there? Looks like you didn't have to modify the hole much.

rotarycrazy 08-06-06 10:09 PM

It actually was really easy I just tokk the went out and cut the inside of the went so you are just left with the round ball of the went and it fits right in you need a dremel or some sorth of cutting utencil to do it thou.

What he said :) We just took out the vent, it will pull out easily. Cut out the middle. Slid the guage in. Almost like it was made to fit!

blwfly 08-06-06 10:45 PM

yup i did the same as well for my oil pressure gauge ^^

i hvnt read the hole thred can i have a breif of the fb11 turbo setup? any details of parts used to get it going

ps.
sounds pretty awsome have u got any porting there?

rotarycrazy 08-06-06 10:56 PM

no porting, just a 3inch down pipe! :)

- Stock s4 turbo
- not sure who made the turbo header
- 3 inch down pipe
- Walbro 255 inline
- aeromotive FPR
- MSD 6a
- Boost prepped Nikki with ported jets (sorry, I can't remember the spec's on the jets)
- el Cheapo brand BOV
- "custom" intercooler piping, lol
- Advance auto E-fan
- locked Electronic distributor (yay for no more points!)

I think that covers everything

Jozay721 08-06-06 11:11 PM

how much did u spend on this fb2 turbo?

rotarycrazy 08-06-06 11:11 PM

the header was built by RX3mist.com

blwfly 08-06-06 11:12 PM

sounds pretty simple

whats the exhaust manifold?
u running premix?
for some reason ur nikki looks tinyer than my stripped one must be the carb hat

what psi u gonna run max?

rotarycrazy 08-06-06 11:16 PM

yes there will premix and the carb has bin striped of everything but the bare esentials.

blwfly 08-06-06 11:17 PM

ops i typed real slow lol

GavinJuice 08-06-06 11:37 PM

i see the rubber reducing couplings on the intercooler piping being rubber, but are the elbow ABS? I see no way plastic to metal sealing under pressure.
