Is there a difference in the size and shape of the windshield washer reservoirs between the GSL-SE's and the other models? Or is it year specific?

I am asking this because I want to use the smaller, thinner one as a Coolant Overflow bottle. If the size is right, it would fit perefectly between where I mounted the TII coils, and the radiator, for an OEM look.
Can you guys tell me the dimesions of yours?
Height,Length, Width, It would narrow my choices significantly.
Thanks.

If so, I still need measurements... I know some of you guys have a herd of cars, and can actually check this pretty easily.
I think you meant 'busy' - bit of a Freudian slip saying 'busty' *L*
Anywho, DR, washer reservoirs have the openings and mouldings in the bottom to accomodate the pump motor, rad reservoirs do not. Why not just use a rad overflow bottle and bracket? The bracket uses a single mounting screw that fits into several of the existing holes in the engine bay sheetmetal; I relocated the rad bottle from beside the rad to the right strut tower on my '83 in about 4 minutes flat.

See?
I can't move the coils any further to the left either or they will interfere with the movement of the headlight retractor motor.
Here is the Cold Start Assist Resorvoir, fitting in where I want it to.
This is why I think a smaller stock windshield resorvoir will work.
DF, how can you expect anyone to be able to concentrate on your question with that chic in you sig? but to anwser one question looking at your tank, my 85 gs' tank looks exactly the same. so i dont think there is a diffrence between the 84-85 12a and 13b's.
Thats all i got

Also, my overflow bottle looks nothing like yours. Weird.

HEY,
Does anybody have a good pick of a stock overflow bottle for a NON-SE car? Maybe that'll work...
Don't know about the overflow stuff but here's to your original inquiry for info...Just went out and got the measurements, DF...the start assist reservoir is still in my car below the windshield and it looks smaller than the windshield....hope that doesn't dash yer plans...
Hope that answers the question...

Anywho, a non-SE bottle is the one I was referring to - mounts easily anywhere in the engine bay, and is more or less a simple box shape and bracket.

Well, the stock overflow won't work period.
I will go and check a little later to see if the windshield
resorvoir pump measurement's will fit my particular need.
Again, Thanks.
Here's the last pieces of the puzzle for you, DF...
I thought I was going mad when I said I'd never seen one of these in an RX-7...

...and then I pop the hood on my '84 and it's there...so I go to my '80 carcass and peel back the protective layers at the front of the car to see what my old one looked like and it's gone! Then I remember I was going to adapt it for CBird because of its clean looks and I find it in the garage...

And the dimensions....

I think hes right. I remember that damn light now
. My 83s tank looks like the one above, if you just take off that extra part to the left and the top. Basically make it a rectangle. The tank in my 85 GSL is just like the one above, and has the light that my 83 does not. Also, DF, I think the best overflow tank to use for your situation might be the overflow tank from a 79-80 (as shown above). They are smaller and more sqare, and might be easier to make fit.BTW, why dont you just mount it on the otherside of the radiator if this side is so crowded? Tubo intake in the way? Too much heat?
~T.J.
EDIT: So in conclusion from what I have gathered, we have...
79-83 Washer fluid tank.
84-85 Washer fluid tank.
79-80 Overflow tank (What I think would work...Maybe
)81-85 Non -SE overflow tank
84-85 -SE overflow tank
