ahh man those are sweet. what are those??
im leaning toward the first ones too, the enkei's. i can see those are velox's, but do you know what type??

lotsacars 11-14-02 10:13 PM

Of those two, I think I'd go RS5. I like the way the spokes extend all the way to the tire (almost). Kinda gives it the illusion of being a larger rim than it is. That and I'm not a big fan of the screws around the perimeter of the Konigs.

Manntis 11-14-02 10:14 PM

I like the Konigs. I've got Enkei RSEs myself and the 3-piece-rim look (with the little bolts around the rim) looks very correct on these cars.

See?

I must agree. The screws are only cool if the wheel is a true 3 piece. Otherwise whats the point? It's like wearing a fake watch.

gen1mike 11-14-02 11:19 PM

hey man im a poor college student. sometimes we cant all afford the real thing. i dont mind having fake 3 pieces, to me if they look cool i like them.

ioTus 11-15-02 12:33 AM

I see my rims on tons of Hondas, but i dont know what brand or how much, they came on my car, sorry!

I never meant to imply that everyone should be able to afford expensive 3 piece wheels. I believe that amongst the more cost-effective varieties, I prefer the ones that don’t pretend to be something they are not, specifically 3 piece wheels.

But above all, to each is own. If you like them, then thats all that matters.

gen1mike 11-15-02 02:41 AM

i wasnt being angry, just joking around. to me buying 3 peice look alikes isnt quiet like buying a fake watch. its say, more like owning a 1st gen instead of a 3rd gen. not being able to afford the best, but still pretty damn cool, for alot less.

nimrodTT 11-15-02 03:49 AM

Your info says you have a 79. Did you swap out your suspension for SE stuff? If not, I think you'll be in for a disappointment on wheel selection.

gen1mike 11-15-02 05:46 AM

well i havent yet, but i just bought all the se stuff so i can do the swap. front and back.

ioTus 11-15-02 12:28 PM

You're set then. You will be able to find almost any wheel at any price for your car if you look around long enough. Let me find this link to a good online store.....

Never actually purchased from them, but they ahve a great selection for the GSL-SE. Some pretty smooth lookin rims IMO.

Funny you should mention this. I've actually decided to sell my 3rd gen and just keep the 1st gen for now. It's a long story, but it's not a case of "having to." I am confident I'll be happy with only the 1st gen for a while. :)

gen1mike 11-15-02 07:47 PM

crazy, i dont think i could ever let a 3rd gen go.
thanks for the above link, thats the sight i used. these were my two favs.

Do it, then dump some coin in the 1st gen, especially on the suspension. I sold my FD in Sept... life goes on. Anyway, I identifiy more with the FB, it sounds better, parts are cheaper, and it's one helluva lot easier to work on ;)

Chalk another one up for the enkeis !!
