Suspension offset?
 

I'm putting wheels on my car. Big wide ones.. My passenger side is perfect, 15x9 +10 wheels, gsl-se suspension on an SA. They fit under the stock body with mild fender roll/pull (i can't believe i even thought about cutting this car to put flares on... anyone wanna buy a brand new set of zg flares?!) I have T3 coilovers, rb sway bar, t3 camber plate, koni yellow, and t3 RCAs. The RCAs lower the tie rod about 1.26", my car isn't "slammed" but it is low. When i put the wheels on, the tie rods hit the wheel just a bit. I pulled the RCA off and milled it to 1.120", which raised the tie rod and the wheels fit everywhere even at full lock to lock. The issue is with the driverside.. same wheel and same everything set the same way with all new bushings, RCA milled to the same 1.120"... the WHEEL hits the coilover and the tie rod !???!? I immediatly thought something was bent... i gave up for the day.

Is the gslse/sa/fb front suspension offset a few mm? I'm talking like 2mm...

The tires are mildly stretched, they're 225/45-15's, so the sidewall shouldn't flex enough to contact the spring at all. The fenders aren't rolled/pulled yet, they will be tonight as long as my buddy comes out.

Thanks in advance. I really hope this is common and I don't have a bent spindle or anything.. is running a 2mm spacer only on one side a problem?

Talking with a guy i know: "I know I put those red springs on another gsl-se and one front tire slightly rubbed with stock gslse rims ." "Yep, only difference was the springs, all the rest of his car was original to his car, and I know that one has never been in a wreck or abused so..." So, two different cars both with gsl-se suspension, one tire rubbed one didn't. Anyone else confirm this? if it is sucked in 2-3mm more.. would running one wheel spacer on one side cause problems, or fix the problems? Hell, other than the wheels not fitting, is this even a problem at all?

your front subframe is probably shifted over slightly.

loosen the bolts and shift it over 1mm.

i can take the spindle with the brakes and wheel still attached to it off of the car and it still touches. it has nothing to do with the control arm, sway bar, tension rods, or sub frame. I'm guessing it has to be in the hub/bearing or something. Unless they made the car this way.

Run 2mm spacer on one side.

The spindle might be slightly bent. You can actually get them bent to get more negative camber. Been there done that. To check, try swapping struts from passenger to driver side and see if it still rubs (or doesn't).

I swapped hubs from side to side, same situation. One spindle has to be bent. I'm running a thin spacer on that side and will have camber even side to side when i get an alignment. Thanks guys.

To get the spindle bent for camber you will probably have to go to an old school alignment shop. I am not sure whether or not they can get more positive camber. The rig they used on mine could only pull on the spindle to make it more negative. The way they normally adjust camber on the FB is to rotate the top hat. That only gives limited changes (4 different settings at most) and will not affect the angle of the spindle to the strut. To fix your rubbing issue, you probably will need to get a new spindle or just run the spacer. I have run 225-45-13's (with panasports) on the front and had to use spacers to avoid rubbing on the spring perch. YMMV, but that is how it looks from here.
