street port.
how the F*** am I supposed to get my engine ported. nobody left who knows how to rebuild or work on a rotary.
I suppose the only way is to learn how to do it myself, and buy some tools. |
well theres that way or you can send it off to one of the shops online that specifically say that they port rotary engines. It gets quite a bit more expensive doing it that way though. Mazdatrix and racing beat do it and I'm sure there are others.
I plan on doing mine myself. Plenty of place sell porting templates, so how hard can it be?
well, I guess it's not that hard, but if you mess up just a bit, you're screwed, and will have to port it bigger.
This will probably be a huge help if you decide to do it yourself https://www.rx7club.com/rotary-car-performance-77/noobs-guide-porting-56k-beware-619991/. If you screw up when porting it could end up alot worse than having to port bigger.
yes, that's very true. .
If I was to send it in...........should I get street ported intake and exaust? or J-Bridge? dunno what's better. |
you may want to do a bit more research before you start porting, a j-bridge and a streetport are completely different. Do you plan on streeting this car or just having it for the track?
for the street, but I'd like to be able to destroy many cars on the street. and just porting won't help .......I may need to get a webber carb, and a turbo....hmmDunno how people slap turbo's on 12A's without them blowing up.
if you want to learn about porting you're not going to find info here. go to www.nopistons.com and look in the porting archieve. there is baout 48hours of reading that you should do before you even consider cracking the block open yourself.
yeah nopistons is the shyt
