RX-3 in "The Exorcist" movie?
Is it just me, or were they driving around an RX-3, in the second half of the movie. It sure looked like one.:D
|
What does an RX-3 look like? :D
|
Front...
|
Side...
|
Rear...
|
Thant rear pic was kinda dark. Try this one to see the teail lights better. :)
|
And here's one of the RX-3 SP...
|
HA! Yes, thats the one.
Cool, okay so, I'm not seeing RX's at every corner...at least not today. |
Looks like I'm gonna have to rent that one again... ;)
|
Doesnt the late 80's movie Bad Influence got an 89 vert in it?
|
I've never seen that one...
I still have the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" on my to-see list ever since I heard about the one scene where there is a Mazda dealership with a large rotary display in it. :) |

Any generation, over the walls that seperate the normal highway from the HOV lanes, when it's traveling in the opposite direction, while I'm driving. I have to drive. Every time I do that shit with my friends, they make me walk. "Dude! There's an RX-7... pull up next to him so I can tell him about the forum!" "NO!" "Aww c'mon dude. They rock.. They have the wankel rota..." "Get out! Walk ya bastard! I dont wanna hear about anything rotary for the ten thousandth time!" |
Originally posted by Felix Wankel There are RX-2s out the wang in the showroom. I believe there is a REPU too, but I can't recall. But yeah now I'm gonna have to check... I only have one really bad tape copy that's half mangled, however a friend has it on DVD (it's our cult movie :D I stilll want a yellow '73 Mustang Mach 1 with license plates that say... well you know... :D ) so we're gonna have to check it out. Except that one of his ex girlfriends (long story, LONG long story) took the DVD when she moved out. As i understand it. |
"Poltergeist" has a yellow REPU parked across the street from the haunted families house as it "implodes" at the end of the movie.
I think that one of the Nicholas Cage movies, maybe"The Rock" has a blue REPU that is destroyed by an out of control trolly car. One of the Dirty Harry movies from the early 80's has old inspector Callahan inspecting a murder in a park with a Pea Green REPU parked in the back ground. I swear I remember a CHIPs episode from when I was a kid that Ponch and Jon were chasing around a guy in a souped up RX3. You know if you look at the traffic in CHIP's you'll see lots of old school rotaies. |
Yeah, I remember the mazda scene in the original "Gone in 60seconds". Good movie... even with it's age..
|
The A team and Miami Vice always have great 1st gen cameos.
Here's a good one: In "RAT RACE" (great comedy that came out last summer for those who managed to miss it), hit the slowmo button when the stupid brothers are about to smash into the monster truck arena. What will you see? Hmmm.... Let's see who can do this first ;). It's a rrrrayce! |
Originally posted by Pele I musta fallen alseep cause I surely woulda remembered that scene, seeing as how I have an eye for things rotary. "Aww c'mon dude. They rock.. They have the wankel rota..." |
See, and here I thought there was no reason for me to re-watch these movies. Now I'm gonna have to just so I can look for these cool cars :)

Originally posted by SIX TWO SLEEPER The scene is when they are setting up a roadblock right at the Mazda dealer. Even there is a quote on the police radio that they are making a roadblock at " 'someone's' Mazda agency". I don't recall a REPU, but there is a blue regular B-series. In fact, I have it on tape, and if anybody wants to have the original (digitally-remastered) on VHS tape, send a VHS tape and enough cash to allow me to send it back, or a lot of cash to cover shipping and vhs tape(maybe). There is even a podium with a giant white rotor-shaped object and a thing in the middle (crt screen?). |
Originally posted by Pele I don't think we're talkin about the Nicholas Cage, 1998, "Gone in 60 Sec." :( Now that I think about it, I think it was just a regular B series. But I'm positive there were quite a few RX-2's in the showroom. |

Wow this thread is almost 4 years old. Way back from the dead.
|
I saw two FB's in the movies before...
1) Matrix Reloaded- when trinity was riding that motorcycle... then there would be a overhead scene from above the overpass and you will see a brown FB on the fast lane... 2) Die Hard- in the very beginning... |
had a friend show me those Mazda scenes from the original movie. the first repu was in '74 and i was sure there was a blue one outside the dealership. there's a sea of rx3 wagons in the lot outside.
|
the FB is so cool its in teh matrix.... I think it should have been the protaganist.
|
i went to go sing karaoke and saw a SA22 in the background at a race course. Damn, it interruped me in the middle of singing "sexual healing" to the ladies.....
