Hey, does that mean it's time for a...:grouphug:
So does this mean all the Mazdaracing/Rotaryshack badmouthing crap is over?

I hope so, becuse I want to see more budget-minded Turbo 1st Gens out there.

(as long as they aren't faster than me. ;) )

680 quick question, how would you even begin to get it smogged here in Ca? also i would like to know how much that "budget" setup would run?

Siraniko 02-07-03 11:57 AM

Im glad its all over and I don’t mind to put my name on the line again to keep the peace.

Rob,
Congrats and here’s one for you….

Good question, how much is the "budget" setup? And what all does it include. I have a buddy who wants to buy a car... I'd rather see him in a turboed 1st gen than an NA 300zx :D

The setup probably could not be smog legal in CA.. I believe he would have to get all the components CARB legal to do that.

But with enough cats it would probably pass the sniffer test. or you could always lean it out and not boost while on the rollers :)

riffraff 02-07-03 02:09 PM

you would have to have the stock exhaust from the TII, along with the stock intake and ecu...

there is no way that it will be legal... just have to find someone that does not care about visuals.

This is on the stock 12A.. so they would not have to worry about emmissions from the later 13BT.. The law you are thinking is if they did a TII swap.. this is a turbo 12A..

But there will still be problems..

thanks for all the positive comments guys, it means alot to me!!!:)  The system on andrews car is not smog legal, but then again i know CARB exempt guys in hondas that get harassed constantly!!! In my opinion, the police harass the honda guys , and usally the Mazda guys are left alone, around here anyways ...
The turbo kit on andrews car was built to his specific needs ..The car is totaly reliable @10 psi with no intercooler and can be daily driven with ease!! Yes it might make more power with an intercooler , but at approx. 300 h/p at the flywheel , and a tight budget the car is pleanty fast!

a couple of forum members were asking for turbo kit pricing,,,,, well YOU make the price! each person has different goals (type of racing, h/p goal, budget$$$)so each turbo kit is different .. thanks again!!

Im really happy that Andrews car is going. I never put two and two together until just now, but is this the car that had the supposed "cracked turbo mani and the oil leaking turbo" and all that shit right? I knew that Robert sounded like a good guy caught up in a bad mess when I was reading his posts. Im glad he made right on a poor situation. I talked to him on the phone recently, and he sounds like a good guy. Id be happy doing business with him :).

PS - I dont wanna sound like Im taking sides here...As in, Im not saying the car wasnt actually broken, and Im not saying that it was Roberts fault. Im just glad the end result is that everyone is happy :).

I haven't seen my car for awhile....it isn't a big deal really as this vehicle is not a priority to me really. I guess now I'm abit anxious for summertime. I do have to say that some of the feet dragging is sorta my fault...solely because of my priorities is definitely not on my Rx7. But I'm planning to be down in the SoCal area next week on Friday. So I'll look at the car.

I do have to say that I feel very blessed to have nice people around me...including MikeB (Mazspeed) and Robert as both are looking out for my best interest. I am dissapointed at Jeff (MazdaRacing) at enhancing inconsistencies to the equation of my dealings with my car. Mike is a good buddy to me (and lives close to me as well) and Robert has been working with me. Maybe both will settle it..but they are adults and they can figure that out without anyone's help.

I generally don't even frequent any forum and the such as my time is very limited, but I was pretty much forced to participate to post as many wanted to know who or what or if I really exist...kinda. I didn't read this forum until the beginning of this week anyways.

I think Robert @ RotaryShack is a very nice, helpful guy! He clearly knows his shit about Rotary's. I have talked to him several times on the phone and he is very honest and knowledeable. I think all the (missunderstandings) from the past, are from the past. I recently ordered a carb from him and everything is running smoothly. I will definately order from him again.. So Robert, get that turbo set-up ready for me!!!
