To remove body lines or not to remove body lines WITH PICS

ok here's the deal,
my car was hit before i bought it on the rear passenger quarter panel,
im not a master at body work so i have to remove the rear body lines,
i was thinking of removing them all but dotn like the look,
so im thinking of removing the front and rear body lines,
and leaving the middle lines.
i will also be removing the side markers.

i borrowed some pics from max7 to help you guys get a picture of what my options are,
i will also have a mariah body kit on to help mask the front and rear line removel,

I would say it still does look, good with just the middle line... Even though I actually like not haveing them:) Dunno why, just do:)

V8kilr 04-08-02 02:48 AM

did you remove yours or did your model just not come with them?

79+80_rx-7 04-08-02 02:54 AM

oh, hehehehehe..... I just re read my post, and what I meant to say, was that I would rather just not have them, that the third pic looks the best to me:D Thats all, I have them, just I have these little rubber pieces that fill the hole in :D

It looks best w/o them. Shave the door handles and it will look really cool. :D

Here is your car with shaved door handles.

w0w.. that looks wicked!!! if you have a chance t0 do yourz like that.. go for it!!!!
I now have regrets :[

i want to shave my door locks, but door handles is a little more difficult.... i wish we could mount handles like the third gens (in the window area).

kilr.. something just does not look right about having just the middle part of the groove and not the rest.. i would say that that has to be an all or nothing thing...
i personally think that the line makes a nice crisp break point (assuming you donot have the rubber molding)

jeremy 04-08-02 01:13 PM

do like in the crow and put the push button under the door.

riffraff 04-08-02 01:20 PM

nah... i donot want to have to reach under the car to get in...

if i can think of something else that is convient , and looks good, then i will actually think about doing it.

MyRxBad 04-08-02 01:30 PM

If you want to shave the door handles off and not being inconvienced to get it, get a set of "door poppers" installed and hooked up to an alarm, so when you turn the alarm off, it pops the door open. Lot of work to put them in though...

mar3 04-08-02 01:30 PM

I remember a loonngg time ago someone else thinking of shaving the door handles and my question then was this...how the hell are you going to close the door? Leave fingerprints all over your window and constantly stress the frame or do it with your butt on the door and rub out a spot on the paint? It's body mod over-kill...filling in all the body lines is an excellent move, though, kilah...

riffraff 04-08-02 01:33 PM

i probably will not, but thought that it would look really good.. my only idea would be to try to mount something like the third gen style handels...maybe at the top of the window instead of the bottom.

you guys really think it looks that good with all the lines removed?
i like the line there my self,
it adds definition,

plus it would be a total pain in the ass to remove the line from the center section,

also remember i will have a body kit once i get down to jeremy's
so the front and rear will look diferent to help mask the missing lines.

its a tough one.

V8kilr 04-08-02 05:15 PM

ok here is another pic to give you a better idea,
this is the same front end i will have, but i will also have the rear grounf efx as well, and side skirts
it will be the same minus the wide body kit.
i think it looks good.

in my opinion the lines definatly have to be all or nothing

(but i personally like the lines)

gonzz 04-08-02 06:16 PM

I think it's personal preferance. Some like it and some don't. Just do what you like ..

85rx7blue 04-08-02 06:23 PM

Leave the lines and dont put the kit.

85rx7blue 04-08-02 06:25 PM

Looks better with door handles

MIKE-P-28 04-08-02 06:25 PM

I like the lines, just me tho. I dont like filling in stuff with filler, potential body work mess if it cracks or whatever :(

85rx7blue 04-08-02 06:35 PM

I just dont like the look without the lines ,filler or not. Just my opinion.
