No disrespect but a cold chisel and a hammer work very well at bone yard trips or when a 3/4 impact gun or rb flywheel socket are not available. Chisel must be grounded down to avoid slicing the flywheel nut.

I actually tried the hammer and chisel method on those two 12A nuts that gave me fits. I chiseled the hell out of them and they wouldn't give.
That's when I invented the grinder method. But I gotta say, the BMFMW coupled to a modified Subaru CV joint socket works way better. No damage to the nut and we got the tools. actually, i guess i got so focused on responding to Wacky's post that i forgot to bestow props where props are due. i absolutely love your setup. that CV joint is nothing short of genius on your part, man. if i had not already bought tools, i would be all over using your idea.
now the name, on the other hand ... may want to think of something else ... it kind of conjured a vision of some product hookers may use between clients. at least, that's what Siraniko said he was thinking until i said, "get your mind out the gutter, Mel." [of course, he didn't really say that, but it's the story i'm going to run with.] :) |
