until i bought my ratchet and socket, that's the way i did it since the 90s. i may have "lost" one or two flywheel nuts along the way, but they always came off - no matter what.

I actually tried the hammer and chisel method on those two 12A nuts that gave me fits. I chiseled the hell out of them and they wouldn't give.

That's when I invented the grinder method.

But I gotta say, the BMFMW coupled to a modified Subaru CV joint socket works way better.

No damage to the nut and we got the tools.

actually, i guess i got so focused on responding to Wacky's post that i forgot to bestow props where props are due. i absolutely love your setup. that CV joint is nothing short of genius on your part, man. if i had not already bought tools, i would be all over using your idea.

now the name, on the other hand ... may want to think of something else ... it kind of conjured a vision of some product hookers may use between clients. at least, that's what Siraniko said he was thinking until i said, "get your mind out the gutter, Mel." [of course, he didn't really say that, but it's the story i'm going to run with.] :)

I think the name is actually the best part, just the right mix of old school phraseology and edginess!

Just one more bit of genius from a unique individual!!!!!

Give em hell Ray!!

excellent Ray and i would be creative like you if i didnt have an impact gun and rb socket set thru a trade back in the 80s. handy dandy caveman tool stays in my tool bag for junkyard run.

i will send you an invite when i go back to the islands. bring lots of small dollar bills for many happy ending lol

diabolical1 08-16-14 03:27 PM

aww sookie-sookie now. also, it was totally unnecessary for you to specify "small" dollar bills since those are the only ones i have. i also have tons of coins. :( as for happy endings ... yes ... if she pays ME. :D

Good to see you guys are finding some creative uses for your tools and having fun with this thread.

After all, the best tool is one that works (that's what she said).

Happy ending indeed.

Dunno why I looked this up, but just thought I'd share...

$19+5 (S&H) for the socket and a $20 HF 3/4" breaker bar. You guys are creative, but the right tool helps a lot. Oxy/acetylene helps too. :D

2 1/8" is what you meant to say. ;)
