Question about ISC Racing Rear Spring Adjusters.
I just purchased and recieved the ISC Racing Rear Spring Adjusters.
http://www.iscracing.net/1stgenparts.htm I was going to install them tomorrow but first I have a few question. 1) Does anyone know if they are compatible with RB Springs? I am going to assume that they do. 2) To lower the car, I am going to have to cut the springs? I was looking at the adjusters and with the RB Springs the way they are, they would only give me the ability to raise the car 3) If I were to cut the RB Springs, which end should I cut, top or bottom? And how many coils are recommeded? I am thinking I would cut from the bottom, but what do I know. Thanks guys, -Greg |
hmm are u looking to lower the rear or raise it? i had rb springs and didnt like the wheel gap from the front compared to the rear. i kept the front how it was and evened the higher rear by cutting 3/4 a coil. it was a perfect match for me.

just call them and they will tell you.

There is a suspension guru on the aussie forum that specialises in setting up FBs for handling and his theory is the rear wheel well arch should be 20 mm lower than the front for optimum handling.
|
^cool. can i get a link to the forum? id like to know how that was figured out.

I'm not sure about the rb spring, but i know for a fact they don't fit the eibach rx7 specific springs.

1- it should since AFAIK they are the same dia as stock.
2&3- Yes you would have to to lower it. Be forewarned though that cutting the spring will stiffen it significantly. I would cut from the bottom (open end) not the closed ground top end. |

Thanks guys, -Greg I am running those.. :) They're made to be used with springs like the ones they sell.. Constant dia, not the decreasing diameter springs liek most out there.. I run them with 125lb springs.. I have it set a bit too low right now as it bottoms out too often :( but! that's adjustable! |
don't really have anything to contribute to the original question, but i figured it's not worth starting a new thread just to ask how they mount. anyone?
|
Well, I will see if these fit in the RB Springs when I intall them. I am going cut off 1 coil from the bottom of each spring and go from there. If it screws up the ride, Ill just get some more spings.

I use these adjusters on my rallyx ride to raise up the rear. For daily driving I could drop them all the way down but it's easier to just simply remove them. I had some unknown aftermarket springs on the car and these adjusters would not fit. I think you need 5" inside diameter springs. For a street car ...... ain't worth it.

Update....
I took out my RB rear springs yesterday to intall these. They definetly do not fit into the RB Springs. Just so you all know. I guess I'll be buying the ISC rear spings now. Anyone want some RB Springs with around 15k on them? Ill sell them cheap. -Greg |
