Question 5 of 5 Rat's Nest

I think my previous thread contained too many pictures because I never got an answer for all of the questions about what to plug or leave open. So, I am posting the pictures in individual threads.

Finally, how should the throttle opener be handle?

You talking about the one for the AC?

If so you have to wire up one of the solenoids, so it passes vacuum from the inlet manifold to the a/c throttle opener :) Not hard at all I just used the exisiting white solenoid and grab any one of the ones coming from the inlet manifold and then connected a vacuum line to the opener ...

i have mine plugged but i would like to hear a professional opinion as well

i just looked at all 5 or 5 threads and you still dont have a pic of the spot that you dont plug,

all the rest of the stuff you have pictured i have plugged.

although i will tell you since the rats nest removal when my car is hot it is a bitch to start.

although i think that is something with the hot-start assist or the starter wire the came up missing???

Thread 1 of 5 shows all of the inlets at the base of the carb.
Perhaps the one you are thinking about is the one with the hose still on it. It is a larger hose that doesn't want to easily come off. So, until I know for sure what to do with it I will just plug the end of the hose.

I had mine plugged initialy, but then removed it when I realized that it would server no fucntion without vaccum. I have also removed the hot start assist with no ill effects. The car starts very easily with 2 taps of the gas

I finally got it running this morning. Apparently, all of the rough running after the header install fouled the plugs pretty badly.

I installed my vacuum hoses so that I kept the a/c solenoid valve and the orange solenoid as well.

After deeply studying the manuals (I have both Chiltons and Haynes) and cross-checking with the maze of piping from the removed rat's nest I saw that ony the EGR valve is rendered totally useless by removing the air pump and ACV.

So, for the throttle opener (5 of 5) I routed a hose from it to the top nipple on the a/c solenoid valve.
