this mite sound funny to some of you guys. my buddy clocks in at 350 pounds and i clock in at around 150. what do i have to do so i can take him for a spin.

the reason i ask is cause the tag on the door says some thing like 340 or 370 for max weight ect.

I had myself and 5 16year old girls in my old gsl. Back when I was 16 of course. 3 in the back, 2 in the passenger seat.

maybe use this next spin with him to justify new suspension components if anything breaks? i think i've had all 115 lbs of me and 200-275 lbs of my crap in my car while moving and all i noticed was that mine was like driving a boat instead of an RX-7. everything was delayed, weighted, heavy, and slow.

im 17 and ive had a few girls in the hatchback and pasenger seat

blwfly 08-19-07 01:12 PM

^^ i agrree with him..

FBsliderseven 08-19-07 01:37 PM

its gonna sink on one side guaranteed.
as far as driving it, it might not be so fun...

warwickben 08-19-07 01:42 PM

you think ill break any thing it is my daily driver after all.

rotaxrave 08-19-07 01:52 PM

if your gonna take him for a ride, im sure acceleration wont eb so impresive iwth 500 lbs of ballast. Cornering wont be impresive, especially left turns. Youll lose grip easier. Of course it will be hard to notice. And it is unlikely that your going to break any suspension geometry or your shocks/springs. For one ride your car is gonna be fine.

do not try do not try do not try. repeat do not try. omg . its stalled out so many times befor i got off of my street. i had to turn around at the end of my street and its a little bit of a hill.......................... i had to back up and get some speed

Jeezus 08-19-07 02:27 PM

Haha, well man, let the clutch slip out a little more going into first or something! Glad you let him ride though. I guess you will be needing more power now, eh?

rotaxrave 08-19-07 03:53 PM

12a? you need lots of torque to haul those big guys. Maybe a 454 or even a 350. or a 13b 4 port :)

struhall 08-20-07 11:50 AM

i would say go for it. ive driven mine with me and my dad in it and im 280 and hes about 340. you can do it, just dont stop on a hill.

FirebirdSlayer666 08-20-07 04:05 PM

hahahaha I've had me ad 4 of my buddies in the car. Total of about 750lbs including me, it was slow going especially since it wasn't running right at the time LOL

warwickben 08-20-07 04:20 PM

it was pretty funny, he was cracking up the whole time and was like iam so sorry.

well iam gonna be putting a 13b turbo in it one of these days so when hes in it ill be drift every left turn.
