Actually you have the option of 4x110 or 4x114.3 directly from there site

General:

Hubs bolt directly on to your existing housing without any modification
Flange face width is only 7mm wider than standard
Comes with super heavy duty 55mm * ½ inch studs set at 110 (Series 1) & 114.3 (Series 3) PCD
Differential centres can be changed in minutes with simple axle removal from the three-bolt centre cap

I do believe it just depends on the year but I think seeing that you have the 84-85 larger axcel that it should bolt up. But dont hold me to that.

Also keep me updated on your search I am about an hour away from you so if you happen to come across a couple of Sportages I would gladly pay you for one. Or just let me know where it is and i will pull it myself.

The S4 diffy flange will work on a KIA pinion shaft. So just transfer it.

When I get home tonight, I will try it also on the front diffy.

88-89 B2000/2200 have 4.44's BUT they are open diff. IT does bolt up however, But if you have and 84 or 85 FB you will have to change the side gears to let the larger axles fit. You could install your own lsd in it but then that would defeat the whole purpose of your question seeing as how you didn't want to open a diff anyways.

Almost forgot to mention, Those gears are in the manual transmission trucks only.

gmanuser 02-15-06 08:33 PM

you are my hero!!!

Rotor13B 02-15-06 11:23 PM

In case it wasn't obvious, They are in the 4x4 trucks specificely.

lol... Anything with LSD though? I want these gears for an autocross/drift/daily.

Thanks for teh imput

Speedworks 02-16-06 03:30 PM

I f the Kia Sportage idiff is workinf for you the Hyundai Tucson diff should work as well as these cars use thesame platform and drivetrain (I work for Hyundai/Kia)

aussiesmg 02-16-06 04:04 PM

The only upgrade is the SE diff at 4.09 with LSD or Miata pumpkins see here

I'm not sure of others, You might want to check around with ford couriers or rangers. From what I here some of those might have the pumpkin your looking for.

Will the SE pumkin fit any year? Nevermind if it will fit the half shafts or not, Changing the side gears would take care of that.

no_name 02-16-06 04:48 PM

hmmm... intresting. I will check into the Fords thanks

Courier uses a larger ring gear. 8.00 Inch. Courier never came with LSD. They have larger axels too.

I wish there was a simple plug and play short geared LSD for 1st gen.

Siraniko 02-21-06 03:31 PM

UPDATE:
I installed the open 4.44 KIA front diffy in my 84. It was fine but not happy with open diffy. So I took it out and put back the stock GSL-SE 3rd member.

Im still saving up $$$ for a new shop press and other nik-naks to do the R&P swap.

no_name 02-21-06 04:00 PM

intresting, tell us how that goes.

What exactly was happening? Did it launch better? I'm assuming your talking about the one tire fire problem.

You guessed it right on the mark. A 4.44 is a much better launcher over a 4.10 gears (GSL-SE) on a 13-B big streetport, IDA and puck clutches. But it was boring taking the local mountain twisties. Im thinking about welding the spider gears like my RX-3.

BTW: On the same day, I swtiched back to a single 2.5 exhaust, instead of the RB dual exhaust system. So I know, my engine runs harder now.

trochoid 02-21-06 11:55 PM

So the big questions is, can you use the Kia r&p with the stock lsd? No one has answered this yet. I need 4.44's just to get the speedo to read correctly with the 15" tires and wheels I have now.
