Look in the Archive section of this board.

Well it does get me pissed when I put the effort in to give free info, and someone can't put the effort in to look for it!

Clayton, no offense to you personally! -You just happen to be the "100th caller" and winner of the "Look it up, damnit!" prize.

PaulFitzwarryne 03-02-03 08:25 PM

Sterling- what you wrote on the Nikki and how to modify it was excellent. After reading your posts and some of Yaw's articles there is little left to be said. I agree, the first thing to do when faced with a problem or ignorance is to press the search button.

Good practical information is sometimes hard to find. Professional tuners are in it for the money, thus rarely give away trade secrets. '"I get 784.58 rwhp out of my jspec L10A, come and buy my product the chrome is really shiney"

Sterling, thanks for your unbiased technical advice.

'The more I know, the more I know I know little. I dont know what it is I dont know, so I cant ask you what it is I dont Know. You dont know what it is I dont know, so you will have to tell me everything"

Uhhh- Yeah. Clayton ole boy- I guess you don't know me. I'm the "psychopathic jack-in-the-box" as Mario calls me. I hate assholes.
Don't be an asshole. When I said "Clayton, no offense to you. You just hapen to be the 100th caller...", -Welp; that's about as close to an appology as yer gonna get.

Carl I've got a serious problem with ridiculously oversized sigs. I HATE them.
Post whores, too!.;)

PaulFitzwarryne 03-02-03 08:37 PM

What key is Elmer's horn? Sounds b flat.

Sterling 03-02-03 08:41 PM

Thank you, Paul! That really means alot coming from an old gentalman like yourself!
I got everything I know from research on the web- starting with Paul Yaws site. I read it and read it and read it all over again! And then it all just clicked, and I started to really understand things. I really believe anyone can do the same if they want to.
Tune a dudes carb, and that car will go fast. Teach a dude to tune his own carb, and every car he has will go fast! knowledge is power. Yadda yadda. I'm not a wise person, I'm just a wise-ass.

...Oh God, help me- I can't stop.

-Yes Carl...caffeine!

Hmmm? (I missed something?)

Okay, so let's all be nice. Search before you post as there's PLENTY to be said about tuning a carb. Everybody's cool now, right?

claytonjh1223 03-02-03 09:56 PM

OHHHH! I see.
No problem. In the "Archives" section, under the thread, "Carb Crap...Nikki Mods" is my write-up for some simple home 'quick-feel' mods.

Sterling, What if the moderators kept up with this forum and made your thread a sticky? So every 10 days when the question comes up everyone could go "READ THE STICKY YOU ASS!"

that would be amazing!

iyaseven 03-03-03 02:46 PM

i think its 'c-sharp before, you b-falt'
my two-cents

Or alternatively before anyone can subscribe to this forum they are required to learn where the main menu and forum specific search buttons are.

I agree with Sterling, signatures are getting out of hand. Do we really need to know for the 500th time what mods are on someones car? Does it make their response anymore worth while?

no, but it hekps to not have to repeat the entire specs of your car every time you post a question where your specs might be relevant. also, people who have questions can tell if you've had experience with a certain upgrade or part.

fatboy7 03-03-03 04:25 PM

Thorin I agree with you that sigs have a time, and place. But I also have been around to know that rarely does a long list of mods add crediblity to somones knowledge. In fact, some of the brightest most knowledgable people that I've seen here on this forum have no noticable sig, ie loooong, and boastful. For some, its like Sterling has so bluntly annouced with his own sig, that they are somehow 'cool' or 'better' than most because they have xxx mod, or yyy hp, or @@@ cars....

So I say, have a list of mods/relavent info in your sig, but only pull it out when the time is right.
