trochoid 11-22-06 04:09 PM

Crap, that's like an hour away from me, just what I need is another vehicle. Good find there Twink.

Latin270 11-22-06 04:18 PM

Damn ! Thats mucho $$$$$$

twinkletoes 11-22-06 04:26 PM

Talk him down trochoid and show him pictures of your widebody and your 2nd gen and how much your involved. It is a lot of money for the buy it now, thats for sure. Thats alomst how much they were in 79 and 80.

kgray 11-22-06 04:36 PM

Scott. wake up. 12,000! you shouldnt be awake yet lol. go test drive it and take it up to redline and say you were making sure the secondaries worked

trochoid 11-22-06 04:41 PM

Damn, I must have been asleep when I read that. Completely missed the 12k buy it now, and this guy is on the forum too. I'm going back to bed. lol.

Yellow '79 11-22-06 04:51 PM

twinkletoes 11-22-06 04:54 PM

you never know..
people are suckers for low mileage cars.

twinkletoes 11-22-06 05:31 PM

Ya, thats true, shouldn't say that. That would be crazy if he did though

Lee Lyons 11-22-06 05:33 PM

haha...it still has the original alternator...its worth 12k just for that...lol

rotornoob 11-22-06 05:34 PM

very very nice SA but i agree 12k is too much for me...

Scott1982 11-22-06 05:41 PM

I think 12K is over what the original price was? I am very happy if he gets it though!

twinkletoes 11-22-06 06:05 PM

It doesn't have the original alternator, it says it in the description. I think your right about the price when they came out too^

64mgb 11-22-06 06:29 PM

I hope he gets $12k for it...makes mine worth more :-)) And mine has the original alternator, master brake and clutch cylinders, even heater hoses! But then again, I don't plan on selling any time soon.

Yes, I agree. I hope he gets top dollar for her. That will just keep enforcing the value of low mileage clean cars...

t_g_farrell 11-23-06 12:18 PM

Nice. Cost in 79 was around 7k for a new one.

-xlr8planet- 11-23-06 12:34 PM

NOT 12k nice.

dj55b 11-23-06 12:34 PM

I can hope it hits that high too ... its already at 3.5k with 5 days left ... so there must be quite a bit of hype on it. I can see it go for about 8k

But there was also a waiting list to get them when they first came out and some places would charge $1000+ to put you on the list. This old guy i used t work with was a car sale man when they first came out. And he said they couldnt keep them on the lot.

That car is clean and low milage but well see what it end up going for. On ebay the price of good condition 7 1st gens has been on the up and up so it should go for a decent amount.

I was lucky. I was 6th on the original waiting list at my local Mazda dealer and bought the second one they sold (it's an S model and people wanted the GS). I paid sticker price...$6395. All told, with taxes and everything, I paid right at $7000.

Oh, i was way off on the price. I guess 12k is for the basic model FB. So 64mgb, Did you get the second rx7 ever? That would be awesome.

No, I'm afraid not...I think the people on the west coast got the first shot at the first ones. But I'm close...VIN 501090...they started at 500000.

Oh, thats still sweet to have a 79 rx7 in the condition yours is, I change my mind on the nicest SA i've ever seen. I think yours is number 1 64mgb. Great car you have and the way you've taken care of it.

BLKTOPTRVL 11-23-06 05:44 PM

7K (at most) for me. Would be nice to know what a nice tight one feels like. And I wonder how all the rubber has held up over 27 years.
