New cat back... to life.

Its coming along slowly. I finally gots some outdoor daylight shots of my first try painting a car. Its by no means perfect however it cost me 150 bucks and it looks better then when I got it!

So the project so far has been:
Getting it to run... All fluids changed
New wires, plugs, dizzy cap and rotor
K&N air filter
New fuel filter
Rust and body work see https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/how-i-spent-my-weekend-learning-605049/
And the paint job

Any input or idea as to what I should new next performance wise?

much better!!! the muffler definatly look original. i really think you did a nice job of painting the car! did you do the body work yourself? what kind of paint did you use? it looks as if it could use a shot of clear and some buffing. otherwise, nice job. thumbs up to you sir!

Hey, nice work on the paint job. That does look a lot better than what it was. By the way, that's a nice scenery you got of the car with the mountains in front of it.

As far as performance, why not look into getting an intake tube setup to run to the front of the car in front of the radiator?

Ya that was my frist try at body work to. Used Por 15 on all rust spots and primed the whole thing with a HVLP gun. Then just used a high gloss black paint with the same gun. The worst part was cleaning the gun!

it looks as if it could use a shot of clear and some buffing.

I would still like to clear coat it. I only had the space for 3 days and just could not paint fast enough!

Unfortunately, no. I lost my dimensions so I have to go out and re-measure everything and plus I won't have time to find a metal fab shop to see what it'll cost until next week. I'm also looking into making a custom made coolant tank to relocate under the radiator cowl plate.

Post us more pics of your car as you progress. Preferably in front of another nice scenery.

Should be making another mt run soon if the weather holds up. Just put in Sirius radio as well.
Also the flames coming out of my cat tell me its the next piece to replace!
