Right, $50 for a cat? Would that not blow all of its contents out of your dynomax muffler after the first backfire?

i got a waterpump for $40, and new brake pads and shoes for $60 total, and a whole new right rear light for 200 buck,
I am bringing my car in for a alingment so I am going to find out prices for new rotor housings and all the stuff I need to rebuild my engine. |
WOW
I was quoted 850 - 900 bucks for a stock alternator.
Ya know I had no idea how expensive it was/is to maintain a First Gen. Rebuilds, upgrades etc. I'm seriously considering selling my 7 after reading this post. My transmission will need to be replaced soon, the engine will need to be rebuilt soon, the clutch will need to be replaced not to mention suspension. It only has 129,000 miles on it, its an 85 GSLSE with all options, red factory finish, red leather...blah blah blah the list goes on, its friggin sexy and I've been looking for this car for more than 5 years. The car runs fantastic, I love it and would keep it if I could but it looks like the long term forbids it. These cars do not maintain they're overall value no matter how much money I put into it , personal value HELL YES, we love out first gens, that much is certain. Ponderous man, really ponderous. |
Re: most expensive single part
Originally posted by ASEmaster I was just wondering.. what's the most expensive single part to replace? I ask because I just got a quote from the Evansville Mazda dealer for a new gas tank... it was $1,056 just for the tank. I didn't realize they must be lined with gold! Can anyone beat that? |
The most expensive part to repair? An apex seal.

i win 3600 for a new gauge cluster.
