Looking to remove isles things from Nikki
 

Hey guys. I'm going to be rebuilding my Nikki carb from my 79 SA 12A with California emissions (rats nest deleted and other smog Crap gone). All I want is what's needed and the throttle and choke. I couldn't find a thread in here that specified how/what to do. I don't generally trust bing or Google search because there's a lot of different things. I trust you guys on here because all the other information I have gotten here before has worked great, no problems. I can rebuild a carburetor, but have no idea what all of the external pieces are called. Thanks in advance you guys!

Check out posts by Jeff20B and take a look at my Fat Nikki link in my signature. That carb and intake
was off an 83 but it worked just fine on my SA 12A.

T_G_Farrell what does removing the choke accomplish? Wouldn't that create problems upon startup especially when it's cold?

I repurposed the fast idle by attaching it to the choke cable. So on cold startups I just pull the choke
cable and it raises the idle and runs smoothly until it warms up, then the choke cable releases and things
go back to normal. The choke is just some more clutter on the carb and it simplifies it further. Its your
choice.
