Lets get This Straight: Stock vs. Stock
 

What cars can a 1st gen run with and beat, stock vs stock. either 12a or 13b engine. I want to see a whole list here.

Why would anyone waste time making a complete list? So hou have a quick reference of what to try to race at the stop light?

Stock for stock they run with anything else that's slow as shit by todays standards.

my tennis shoes can take them out pretty easy, so....
maybe a tree sloth?

This car was never designed for this, kind of a silly question. it can beat alot of brand new cars in the curves though.

Which list ya want? The one of cars that the 1st gen can take in a straight line, or the list of cars it can take in the twisties?

Yeah I was just poking fun at 2cute.. First Gens are not straight line cars.. and I honestly don't think about drag racing the thing so what it can beat.. who knows..

i know there not straight line cars, i just would like to know what you guys have pulled up against and had some fun with

Well mines not stock but I killed a v6 mustang... woohoo! Up a hill too.. didn't think it was anything to brag about though.

There is a sticky in the General Automotive forum which lists performance for many cars in the USA. Read that for a start.

Of course, the US only got slow, detuned versions of the Gen 1.The 1985 12A Turbo efi series were by far the best Gen 1 made. The performance of the base model GT was top speed 145mph, 15.3 second 1/4 mile and 28mpg. The LV and GT-X models had the same performance with the SE-Ltd a little slower due to the extra weight of the luxury equipment.

The Rx-7 types 252, 253, 254 and 717 were quick, but I have not driven them or read a road report so unfortunately can not give information.

I beat a stock 1988 honda accord exi by three car lengths :D

Don't even bother racing the stock 12a against really anything lol. Maybe some older stock honda civics. When I was stock I couldnt even beat a newer corolla. =(
But then I bought a weber, things are different now =)

wow... this is great to read.

Magazine test aginst 4 other cars, it beat all of them in accel test.
