laggy rev
well got my 82 rex today
400$ so i wasnt picky about running anyways i seems to be real sluggish about increasing RPM, and is lacking power Im going to check the compression in a few days i know it could also be a clogged cat anything else i should check? BTW is starts easy and idles nice |
Give the ignition and fuel system a good look. Give it some fresh gas too.
|
well i have to check the ignition for sure
I forgot to add that it will start missing a little at high RPMs new plugs ,and wires geuss ill check the under the cap |
well, my GS had a real slow rev, plugged the shutter valve and it revs freely, still has many other problems, but that fixed that one. :)
|
thanks 82 ill try that tomorrow
after i "unclog" the cat (no emissions in MS) |
yea, the shutter valve is part of emissions anyway, so you might as well get rid of it, oh yea, after you plug it you have to turn the idle up and richen the mix a bit.
|
That shutter valve can get ya. I have seen them stuck in the energized position which closes the butterfly in the intake. It can gice you a low compression check on the back rotor as well. I have also seen the linkage come off and it would flop back and forth giving an intermittit problem.

k
i cant wait till tomorrow got my big metal rod for the cat cleaning and am gonna disconnect the a/c and air pump |
Sounds like you've got a nice game plan.
|
yup
oh yeah, bye bye carbon can |
hmm went out and looked and it seems the vac line is broken off of the trailing control solinoind
that would make both my trailng plugs out of time wouldnt it |
You've gotta replace that vacuum line before you start tuning it.
