and yeah, rotor13b, that's the shift knob i want, except i hope i can find one that slips a little further over the shaft to make the shifter appear as though its actually shorter.

It actually sits further down than the stock knob. The shift lever is almost touching the top of knob when it all together. Since the boot is not attached to the console, It seems stock looking but if the boot was installed correctly it would actually be inverted alot at the bottom.

yeah actually that does make sense when i look at it again.

what shift knob is that anyways? kinda looks like the cheap look alike's you see around.

i don't care much for the name, not looking for a momo or anything, just something that looks decent and isn't going to discolor quick.

No they haven't.

The boot they sell is a VINYL replacement, whereas this is itallain leather.

I think the one Rotorhead sells is nice, but I'm willing to pay the extra for leather...
mmmmm......

Leather......

I just bought a new shift knob to go with my new boot:bigthumb:

Just a cheapie, but it feels nice and seems of a decent quality...

My interior is burgandy, and I have a two-tone burgandy and black boot on the way, with inverted thread colours.

I want to do my whole interior in two-tone black and burgandy next year....

You know what, I don't even remember the name of it,lol. I bought it like 4 or 5 years ago and it's held up real well. When I go get my oil change stuff in the morning I'll look and see if they still sell it.

heres my knob :)

Its from the new Ford XR series (the rare manual ones)

fits sooo nicely and shortens the throw a fair bit too

now i just need to fix the plastic crap around it

EDIT: its a pretty crappy photo.. but theres an 'inscription' on the top the same as our gears, and its a nice shiney silver witha comfy leather band around it.. the boot is leather aswell.

wow that sits super low. that's what im looking for. not bad looking, but too "fat" for my liking.

why don't you attach the boot to the shifter surround? i would think you could just cut it down, and attach with double sided tape (like i did), or epoxy, etc.
