Interesting tail light idea

Hey all, i've got an 85 GSL and have been trying to find something interesting to do on it that won't take much money since I'm a college student with no job atm. Now I know I may receive some hate for this, I'd appreciate it if the comments were kept constructive. Before this car I had a 91 FC that had to be stripped to parts due to a fruit rat getting in behind the dash and eating out all the wiring so I've got a lot of parts left over from it. I was thinking of trying to fab the tail lights from the FC onto my FB and was curious if anyone else had done this or something similar? I've done some light checking around and hadn't seen anything like it and was wondering if that's because its such a bad idea or if its something no one had really done yet. Any input is appreciated, just remember, please keep it constructive! :)
Thanks!

not so good

So i went out yesterday and just kinda placed an fc light over where the left rear light would go on my dad's fb since the tail light was already out and man. That shit is not going to work easily if at all. The FC lights are huuuge compared to the fb lights, so much sheet metal work would be needed as well as cutting into the rear support brace that goes behind the corner of the rear fenders. Plus I dont even know how the wiring would compare between the two and whether the fc lights use the same signal strength as the fb lights so it's kind of a wash atm.

If anyone else has changed out their lights to anything other than the stock ones please comment and show them off. I'd love to get some more ideas.

Only real way is to modify the stock tail lights.

This is an S5 inspired tail light. Probably what you would be looking for:

Here is one with the colored diffuser lenses removed:

You have to remove your tail lights and put them in a warm oven for 2-3 minutes, that will get the clear lens off. Be careful.

I'm still contemplating making custom LED tail lights for the FB's and SA's. It's still in development stages though, maybe I'll give it a crack this winter again. Shouldn't be too terribly hard to fabricate I hope.

That custom tail light job will take a lot of time and money + paint + bodywork. I just bought a header for my GSL-SE off ebay for $120 and now I have to figure out how to build the rest of the exhaust system which will probably be another $500-$600 dollars knowing somebody that welds and has a lift. This upgrade will get you a little more power and a lot more attention which you may or may not want. That's my constructive advice
