you get what you pay for. good luck.

1985_RX-7 06-27-05 10:45 PM

They look like they are basicaly Recaroout of the evo just with mazda speed in the headrest, im not willing to pay tonsof money for seats n e way.

pinkfloyd 06-27-05 10:47 PM

19lbs is pretty light for that cheep. let us know what you think of them when you install them

Arockrx7 06-27-05 10:48 PM

A seat is something I would want built right and safe. Honestly I would not be suprised if the ebay seats are not built with high standards. spend the money on something else. thats my recomendation.

Paradox 06-28-05 12:19 AM

the shipping costs is like the same price as the seats!

txredneckmedic 06-28-05 12:34 AM

paradox...thats ebay for ya

RustyRotary 06-28-05 12:38 AM

"carbon fiber cloth"

That's all I have to say.

d0 Luck 06-28-05 12:53 AM

i actually like it. go for it and tell us what you think about them when u get them in your car. :bigthumb:

for the price, you can't beat that most especially since the bolstering is much improved. i don't get how's that rice when function comes first then form follows. if you dont like the look, just get it reupholstered again.

so what's your good reason of not liking them?

nick1 06-28-05 01:39 AM

ahhh those are the ugly ones...keep looking. similar ones without the stupid carbon fibre cloth...and cheaper....look at the mazdaspped oenes in vinyl (simulated leather)

mortenf 06-28-05 03:26 AM

Or just get some Turbo II seats that fits directly into your car, and spare yourself the hassle of fabricating frames for the seats..

Sir Rupert Hobo 06-28-05 07:11 AM

those will fit fine with minor modding of the rails.

glewsRx 06-28-05 07:24 AM

Shipping alone would kill me.

85gsl2ndtimearound 06-28-05 07:42 AM

150.00 shipping for 40lb.....i must have mised the part where he talks about the reach around you get while he is fu#King you.

85MarkRx7 06-28-05 07:49 AM

It is not the weight that makes the shipping expensive it is the size to, plus insurance

Arockrx7 06-28-05 08:04 AM

I have sat in some seats just like these. padding sucks, stiching sucks, strength sucks. oh and shipping sucks. and then there are the corbeau cts seats in my father's porsche. if you want seats spend the extra for something that will last. BTW those are just like the tenzoR seats not recaros.

This is the seat from Summit that I'm looking at. You can get it in a few different colors, and the quality looks pretty good.

This is an RX-7 seat bracket from Summit. I'm not sure what seats it fits, though I assume it works with the Summit racing seat.

I'm also looking for good 4-point y-type harnesses. I think I'm going to go with a Simpson, but I'm still looking around.

1985_RX-7 06-28-05 01:33 PM

im not spending $500 for to seats. I like these seat sand im buying them... Nuff' said.

RustyRotary 06-28-05 01:41 PM

Easy, I was just showing what I was interested in.

By the way, why do you want two seats? The passenger sure as hell doesn't need the extra bolstering, not to mention the passenger side seat bracket is weird and would be hard to match.

I think I just found the harness that I'll be getting. It's one of the few with a retractor that I've seen, which is obviously very important for street use.

Because i want it matching...

saltyslug 06-28-05 01:59 PM

You get what you pay for is right. My friend bought a set of apc racing seats before I could get them(thank god). It was almost a year ago and now the look like shit. The padding is badly worn, the stiching is bad(3 rips in the driver side, one in the passenger, he weights about 240), and the fabric is wearing pretty bad. I do not think the fabric is fire resistant either, he dropped a cig on the seat and it kept burning(the seat). I have seats out of a later toyota mr2 and mine still look nicer and are more comfortable than his new ones and they are almost 10years old. They are really light also, maybe 20lbs with brackets. His seats were about the same price at a local import shop.
