IF The Kaminari kit was available....

My dad and I are considering buying the MOLD to the Kaminari FULL kit, I am posting the link.. Please don't FU#K my buisness plans and outbid me. This is going to be a small buisness for my father and I...

List what you would pay for the KIT in total or just the individual Parts...

PLEASE be serious because this will probably determine weither I jump into this or not...

Look up pictures of CODY's car for the finished product (minus the gay testarosso things)

LOL.
Thanks for the help!

Personally, you'd have to shoot me to put that hideous kit on my car. It's too modern looking to go on an angular '80s sports car. No offence to anyone who has this kit, it's just not my cup of tea.

nick1 11-27-05 02:06 AM

i love that front bumper. if i didn't currently have the 3 piece urethane air dam, i'd definately be asking you to mark me down for one...of course i could always sell mine, and go with the kamanari.

what kind of pricing are you thinking...for the air dam

Max7 11-27-05 03:52 AM

Just a FYI for those that want to see it on a car. Not my choice but other may like it.

A guy in Miami, had made them and only sold 2 in a year at $899 for the whole kit, Back skirt, side skirts and aird-am, wing ..

He said more people wanted the air-dam then the whole kit, Hope this helps.. WIll send you his e-mail if you would like to contact him ..

this is the pics I have left of his work..

One is a ride all done other is parts of kit..

RRTEC 11-27-05 08:06 AM

I've always liked the kit, especially the spoiler, sideskirts and rear bumper.. I could probably make them very competitivley priced to the Victoria Brit, stuff/mazdatrix.. But anyway if there is little to no market for it I won't waste my time..

lovintha7 11-27-05 09:23 AM

I'd buy a spoiler and possibly the sideskirts, but that front air dam isn't going to happen on my car.

That kit you're looking at keeps popping up on ebay. He keeps dropping the price every time he relists it. Last time I saw it, it was around $1k.

carbon fiber good , fiber glass bad, most people that own a rotary want more speed thats y selling these products are so bad plus most rx ppl love the way they look maybe alil there a little here makes it look nice but if ur looking to sell a body kit for a 1st gen the widebody is the way 2 go

ApG Spaz 11-27-05 11:39 AM

i thought the kaminari had the good front air dam and that one was a knockoff..

as on http://www.cardomain.com/ride/661241/1

and there were still leftovers here

http://www.nopionline.com/nopistore/...A%20RX7%201981

but i could be wrong

edit: id suggest not wasting your time

I dissagree, carbon fiber is hideous in all forms.

But, I also agree that it probably wouldn't sell, the curveyness of it just doesn't match the body style of our 1st gens.

Agreed.

Rotary13B1 11-27-05 06:45 PM

The ricers called....... and they wanted their body kit back!

Not my cup of tea either... sorry.

aussiesmg 11-27-05 06:54 PM

I wouldn't go that route either, need old school for the FB or it looks "Rice"

DJAngelicon 11-27-05 06:55 PM

Personaly I think is a good idea however, like everyone here said. It just dosen't fit the 80" Rx7 style. I would redesign it or make my own design for it. Personaly everyone taste is different and for me I kind of like the rear spoiler but not the front and my fiance dosen't like both of them. I guess is worth a try maybe to be design for more than just Rx7 along you might have a chance to sell a few of them.

Sometimes I think having the basic like that kit there to make other different one is worth it only if you are truly going to doit. For me I have no experience with fireglass except installing the one on new or rebuilt homes which is a different story. I guess the only think I can say is if you do this I wish you "Best of Luck" like I would wish anyone that is trying to start a business.

RRTEC 11-27-05 06:59 PM

Well I am a little leary spending $600 for a mold that I have never seen the final product from, the mold is the Biggest part of what makes the final product look good. I would personally rather just buy the spoiler mold and sell the spoilers as it is a very attractive design and they are easy to ship. But I don't think he is willing to split it up.

jayroc 11-27-05 07:03 PM

I wouldn't mind having a good, stock looking spoiler and maybe an airdam. I would think these would sell more than a flashy body kit, but that's just my opinion.

aussiesmg 11-27-05 07:04 PM

That spoiler is just a psuedo Ferrari 355 look, If it wasn't so angular it would be more popular. If it was simpler like the rear I'd bet it'd sell

Yellow '79 11-27-05 07:56 PM

i like the sideskirts. The rest of the kit is ok. not sure if i would put it on my car.

trochoid 11-27-05 08:13 PM

I have an authentic 4 piece Kaminari kit in the basement. The only piece I'm missing is the rear skirt. It looks nothing like the one offered, mine has that old school look. The one that is offered looks too contemporary and unless Kaminari made 2 entirely different kits, I have doubts about the authenticity of the design.

If the seller once sold under the name of RX7audiophile, I have done business with him before, don't care to again.

RustyRotary 11-27-05 09:15 PM

The front bumper looks like something you'd see on a mustang or camaro. Way too "bulgy" for me.

Now if you started making THIS bumper, I'd buy it

good call the bumper above is fackin sweet

GavinJuice 11-27-05 11:43 PM

dunno y but that thing looks stretched out. specially the front end

snowbreaker 10-24-11 07:18 PM

bring a thread back from the dead---anynews on the kit?
i like the sideskirts and rear bumper and spoiler the front airdam is way to curvy for me

OneRotor 10-24-11 08:36 PM

5 year 11 month bump? Nothing ever materialized from this. Let the thread die.

snowbreaker 10-24-11 08:45 PM

couldnt help it--was getting pictures off of google for a powerpoint presentation of the rx7 and the picture came up and it was from the rx7 forum so naturally i had to check it out
