How heavy is the GSL-SE rear end?

I need to know how heavy the rear end is to quote someone for shipping, but I can't find a scale that can weigh it and I don't want to bring it to UPS and bring it back. Thank you in advance.

Seem to recall that it is about 150# for the whole thing. You are talking about the whole rear and not just the diff unit, correct? I am not sure how others have shipped, but I imagine that you will need to use a freight service due to size/weight.

Yes, the whole rear end. UPS won't deliver it?

FYI..
The complete CENTER section assembly (Pumkin) with all gears and LSD in it weighs 50lbs just by itself. The rest of the weight is from the brakes/calipers/cables/axles etc... The rear housing itself is not that heavy once all items are removed from it.

The guy want to buy the whole rear end, do you guys know will UPS ship something like this?

you might actaully be able to do ups freight if you take it to the ups station, the drivers usually wont handle things over 150# and going freight it might cost a bit more.. so the guy might have to also go to his local ups station to pick it up

It is going to be close. They have a weight limit of 150lb and you'll probably be right at the limit. One option might be to pull the rotors/calipers and ship them separate if you are going to have trouble meeting the 150lb limit. I checked on UPS.com so see what the cost might be from VA to my Mom's in OR. About $140 shipping for ground.

If over 150lb and you don't want to mess with sending rotors/calipers separate, then you will have to go freight (UPS, FedEx and many other companies offer this service).

Thanks a lot, will go check at the UPS store later.
