How hard is it to install a header?

so i finally ordered the full exhaust for my car from mazdatrix (funny, racing beat was out of stock), but i was just wondering how hard it is to install, i wouldnt think it wouldnt be that hard, but sometimes you never know-

It is a straight forward affair unless you have the thermal reactor, then the bolts are kinda a pain to get to. Just unbolt, and bolt back up. With the full exhaust the thing should be a snap, with plenty of help here if you run into a snag. Good luck,

installing the header takes like 5 minutes, its taking all the old shit off that takes a long time.

I'll second that. It took me forever to get my old shit off, with all the heat shields and shit on there. After it all came off, the new stuff slapped right on. Gasket, header, bolts, nuts, tighten, torque, all done :). Then the pre-silencer, gasket, nuts, tighten, torque, all done. then the connecting pipe, gasket, nuts, tighten, torque. I think you get the picture :).

I third that... Getting the old stuff off is a serious PITA! (PB Blaster is your best friend, soak it like a day in advance)

The new stuff goes on in about 20 min... just bolt it all up and tighten the crap out of it.

the only difficult actually installing the system was with hanging the center SP section, that thing must weigh like 90 lbs.

I second that with the SP setup and the upper bolts on the first flange closest to the tranny are a pain.
I found for taking off the thermo-what-so-call-it-thingy just use a 3/8 uni. and thin wall sockets and a good 2 ft long ext. :D

Paul, is that the stock 86 alternator? Basically I need a double sheeve pully for my 12A alt. and i was wondering how you solved that problem. Also, hows that fan work for you? Its the same one that was in my car when i bought it, but since the engine was toast, i have yet to use the fan.

Once the reactor is off, a sawzaw will go through the pipes in less than 30 seconds.
