help w/2nd gen direct fire
I have repeated asked over the course of days for help in wiring up a 2nd generation direct fire for my 1980. I have as of yet gotten no help. Is there another location that I may get help? I am trying to understand the wiring difference in my 1980 and what I need to do to wire it up for my application.
It is warm outside. It is sunny and I would like to get this done before it turns cold again. I would like to please get some help in this matter and NOT blow anything on my car. Here is what I know...One of the yellow and green wires on my leading coil is for the tach. I am assuming one of th negative wires is also for the tach. There are a pair of black with white wires also going to the negative side of my leading coil. I though these wires were coming from both ignitors but I have traced them. One goes to my leading ignitor and one comes out of the ignition box. I'm sure that someone here has a wiring diagram for a 1980 somewhere. I'm just asking that someone please look and help me out. If nobody here knows, please give me info to find a site where I can get it. thanks |

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=243350 or this: http://www.mazspeed.com/forum/thread...365&boardid=14 I just did this mod yesterday so it's fresh in my mind. PM me if ya got any questions. You can always PM metallic_rock too. Or inittab cuz he did this too. cheers! PS - wiring diagrams here -> http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/index.htm |
www.iluvmyrx7.com has both the factory manual for the '80 and the wiring diagram.

I went there and only saw it for the 79 but not the 80.
|
anyone *bump*?
|
80 is similar to doing an 81-85.

I guess I was just curious about the tach and the black with white strip wires. One coming from my leading ignitor and the other coming from the ignition box. Plus the other ground. I'm guessing that one is for the tach.
