got $300 what to do with it

i got $300 to spend on car parts.....dont tell em crap like sace for turbo cuz im getting to that later down the road i already have the nest removed racing beat intake cat pipe and muffler... new raditor and a autometer guage(long story with that...lol) ok ok first off im gettin a new slave for my clutch that is slowly leaking i think.....at least its not my master(rebuilt) so that only $30 out the way ,,then window and door seals to keep water out that gunna be about $90 so really i have $180 to work with but that will change.. so lets just Say i have $300 what ot buy????????? springs,, shocks,,,,rims,,, those are needed but only one can be bought at a time

DAVID GRIMES 12-02-04 07:43 PM

I know. Treat you and your car to an electric fan and an electric water pump !?!

Rusty Shackleford 12-02-04 07:55 PM

ohh thats a pretty good idea about the fan i forgot i was wanting one......never really seen an eletric water pump for our cars where is that at???

web777 12-02-04 07:55 PM

Depends what you want first. I would get shocks and springs or a header.

calvinpaul 12-02-04 08:21 PM

Holy crap dude, if you don't have a header get one, great improvement.

blazer1313 12-02-04 08:43 PM

what are you into? taking corners at 50 or droppin the clutch at 4000RPM? Corners = I would do sway bar kit and front and rear tower braces all from Racing Beat. I just bought a SPEC Stage 3 Spung 6 puck performance clutch from horsepowerfreaks.com for 300 bucks but haven't installed due to RX7 meet friday and i couldn't full throttle it for 450 miles due to break in time. Header, OR OH OH mild street port :):)!!!

BMS2004 12-02-04 09:12 PM

well I dunno what you have but I would get soem mrore gauges and header. Oil temp water temp and oil pressure are good to get....yes you already have water temp and oil pressure but I like the faster responding aftermarket gauges. good insurance too.

WankelingBeer 12-02-04 09:51 PM

Finish the exhaust, get the Header.

Yark79 12-02-04 10:02 PM

I don't think I would get a header if I planned on going turbo later on.

OTT 12-02-04 11:31 PM

Hell, I got my header for 60 bucks. Look around, get a header, E-fan(VERY notible improvment, get one froma taurus, its the easiest mod there is.) I also got my Dellorotos and intake for 350. Just look around and grab the good deals when they come up. You can doa decent amount for 300.

Paradox 12-02-04 11:40 PM

i'd say springs or struts, something that is a repair, e-fans is a idea. anything thats going to replace aging parts is a better idea than just adding some 'power gainer' modifcation, tho. make sure the car is running 100% before you start wasting money on engine modifications.

g'luck :) hope you find some new toys

TurboFB 12-03-04 12:12 AM

:bigthumb: Turrrrrbo :bigthumb:

Elysian 12-03-04 12:21 AM

i'd do springs and struts myself... if u already got a turbo solution figured out... hell i dunno bout u, but i got my 89 turbo/exhaust manifold for real cheap, i'm sure u could find the same deal, and already be on ur way to turbo, even if its not some humongoid T80000 turbo...

Turbo II-FB 12-03-04 08:38 AM

1.Get all the money in hand first
2.get a belt to bite on
3.drop your pants
4.take a deep breath
5. and ram that cash up you ass

j/k

bizarro 12-03-04 08:42 AM

anyone still running these cars with the stock suspension should do this first...

Tom 12-03-04 09:28 AM

^Agree with the suspension. If yours is in need of improvement, do this first, even if it is stock replacement stuff for worn springs and shocks.

You can add all the go-fast parts you want, but if it rides and handles like shit, you'll simply have a faster car that still rides and handles like shit. That's no fun.

bizarro 12-03-04 10:11 AM

Its gonna cost a little over $300 but I would do the bushings as well...

www.suspension.com full kit = $120 <--includes rear end which you'd probably want to leave out

mpetersrx7 12-03-04 11:12 AM

I would get 2gen coil and DLIS it. Then add GSL-SE fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. Rebuild carb. Header.

Suspension is good idea depending on what condition your is in.

Mark

mikey D 12-03-04 11:25 AM

assuming your car is in good shape...and your running a cat bypass pipe but no header means you have to pass smog sometimes so you dont want a header probably.

I would pick up racing beat springs and search ebay for some koni/tokco shocks.

a lightened flywheel would be awsome to. in the 300 range youll be stuck with steel but it will make your car feel more responsive and a little faster down low were you need it.

Jeff20B 12-03-04 12:12 PM

I think Mark meant 2GCDFIS. ;) Like mikey D, I too would suggest a light steel flywheel.

Yeah, I just ordered a full set of urethane bushings from Mazdatrix plus a new right lower control arm = $312.14.

soulja77 12-03-04 12:55 PM

get projector lights

Rusty Shackleford 12-03-04 04:36 PM

im gunna prboly get an eltric fan found a flex-a-lite 16" blows 2500cfm or somthin around there for 120 or so and then maybe a air dam from VB i dont know much about them but they like the same thing as a mariah......and i alread have a autometer oil pressure gauge whoever told me to get guages thats all im worring about now

Supper 12-03-04 04:53 PM

go buy yourself a hooker.

enjoy your couple hours.

in the moment of calm consider how you can work more hours so next time you will have enough money to do a complete suspension job.

DAVID GRIMES 12-03-04 05:18 PM

I don't think Hooker headers will fit a Mazda Rx-7. You're so silly !
