Good things to strip off a GSL-SE

What are good things to strip from a junkyard GSL-SE, I wanna be ready if I find anything good

1)fuel injectors
2)LSD rear end, complete
3)Driveshaft
4)bumper skins?

I know I'm missing much.... help fill my shopping list

If you get the rear end, get the front strut/brake assemblies as well to match.. on the interior, the electrical switches; power windows, etc.

MosesX605 01-20-03 10:41 PM

The front strut/towers/hubs.
All the mag wheels.
rear hubs w/axle.

Every 12A powered RX-7 needs the better wheels/brakes.

Oh...and the engine ;)

Everything.

Right on.

Sammymatik 01-20-03 11:25 PM

Ok so the rear end is obvious... but the front brake assemlies are better on a GSL-SE? I thought they were the same?

Power windows and swithces is a good one.

The mag wheels... what do these look like again...? I can't find the thread with all the wheel pics! :(

And the engine u say? I know its a 13b... I don't know much about the SE's, but are these 6port? I know the rebuild prices are a bit higher on the SE''s.

There has gotta be more than this?

get the ashtray!!! SE's have HUGE ashtrays!!!!LOL
if the interior is grey get it!!

brownmound 01-20-03 11:47 PM

The moonroofs are real swass, if you can find em.

Right on.

Also make sure and get:

Fuel Pump
Engine (if it is bad still get it for parts.)
Turn signal wiper switches. (Under steering wheel)
Windsheild wiper rack.
Traney.
Gas Tank
Starter

Thats all I can think of.

Both Igniters - they are easy to take off too...they are small and only held in place by two screws each.

The front brakes are a must. The braking system is designed to work as a whole. If you upgrade only the rear, the fronts will be too weak.

i recently got an 85gsl-se for 170 bucks
ive already swapped the complete front suspension and brakes to my 81 automatic.... next is the rearend and suspension...
what else should i swap to my 81?
the motor has 135k on it and i was told it ran but the ignition is all stripped so i havent tried to start it..... if the motor runs i want to swap it to my 81 but until then any ideas?

Gregs 01-22-03 05:19 AM

LongDuck 01-22-03 04:53 PM
