My logic is

I'm pretty sure this will be a very good tuned length, it should be tuned to pretty much the same RPM band as the full length PP exhaust is tuned for (using RBs 13B PP lengths).

I This setup will probably have the most distinctive sound too.

whats the word on the E-shaft

Jeff20B 06-15-07 03:03 PM

The shop's grand opening is tomorrow so the updates will probably start rolling in soon.

News ?

Jeff20B 06-30-07 10:56 PM

Why yes, there is some news of significance. The owner wound up sending the side plates to Jeff Bruce for some machining work and will purchase a shaft, dowel pins, tension studs etc. The kit comes with the custom parts you need to assemble the engine. You just supply the side plates and stationary gears so he can machine them to fit with the proper alignment. He also machines a couple of counterweights according to the weight of the rotors you want to use. In our case, the lightest stock 12A rotors from '83-'85.

The whole package costs around $5000 NZD. Not sure what that is in USD at the moment. Considering you'll have a freakin' 4 rotor to play with, it's pretty cheap!

dj55b 06-30-07 11:03 PM

Thats about 3900$US just to get that out of the way. Can't wait to see more pictures of this ... man if you ever need a helper I'll fly down there and help you out :D I love fidling around with stuff like this ...

81gsl12a 06-30-07 11:04 PM

5,000.00 NZD = 3,855.20 USD
New Zealand Dollars United States Dollars
1 NZD = 0.771040 USD 1 USD = 1.29695 NZD

as of right now

81gsl12a 06-30-07 11:05 PM

damn dj55b you beat me to it

Jeff20B 06-30-07 11:16 PM

Back when we originally priced this out, the NZD was around 70 cents ($3500). If you can wait for it to dip down again, you'll save a couple hundred bucks.

Mom, "whats wrong with our boy?"

Dad "Dammned if I know, he's totally rotarded..."

Grandpap " Yepin he's got rotors on the brain"

Me in 2007, "I hope my youngest boy ends up rotarded just like Jeff"

:rlaugh:

I was bitten by the rotary bug and now I've got rotoritis. I need to take two rotors and call the doctor in the morning.

fd3ETTY 08-03-07 11:03 AM

this is so frickin sweet!!

Jeff20B 08-03-07 11:55 AM

What 's even sweeter is the shaft is almost done. More info when it becomes available.

fd3ETTY 08-03-07 12:56 PM

SChema 08-03-07 09:03 PM

Sounds awesome, can't wait for more progress.

Jeff20B 08-04-07 12:25 AM

I located two rotors today. They're '83-'85 (the lightest stock 12A rotors you can get). We just need two more. :)

warwickben 08-04-07 10:15 AM

if you pull this off any chance you would be willing to make kits to do this? the scary thing is in mass where i live i could do this and have no problems keeping my car on the road. i love the fact that if your car is mad ebefor 84 in mass no emissons tests. o yeah next august there makeing its any car 1994 and older doesnt need to past.

spankle my wankle 08-04-07 08:22 PM

holy hell a 6 rotor...your spark plug changes are going to be expensive!

John64 08-05-07 03:36 PM

No its a 4 rotor^^^^^^

Jeff20B 08-05-07 03:55 PM

Nothing draws the noobs like a 4 rotor thread. http://smileys.on-my-web.com/reposit.../happy-058.gif

jamiemirror 08-06-07 02:37 AM

Yes Jeff but real reason is word "ghetto" instead of "4-rotor"
It's tempting to construct even 3-rotor engine from stock 12A/13B parts, 20B are very rare.
