I do have a question...

Those tension bolts are gigantically huge, so I'm assuming that this engine gets bolted together the same way a regular 12a or 13b does.

Wouldn't that put a lot of stress on the bolts in the middle? I would think that once you get to 4-rotors you'd almost have to thread the centre iron and put bolts in from each side in an alternating pattern to keep the stress off them. Breaking a tension bolt on a 4-rotor would suck, it's not like you can just order a replacement from mazdatrix!

From what I've been taught, the tension on something like that is not greater in the middle than it is on the ends. It's constant throughout the bolt. As long as enough threads are engaged and the fastener material and cross section is strong enough for whatever tension the bolts are torqued to, they should be fine.

Speaking of which... do you have to torque tension bolts on a 3 or 4 rotor any higher than on a 13B? I'd think it would remain the same torque.

Awesome project. I'm subscribed and lookf orward to updates.

very awesome, I may consider doing this when I get myself a garage...
