Can't believe how fast this info is coming in. I'm Don Badaczewski and I'll be 60 in about 2 weeks. I'm a special education administrator with side jobs as an attorney and a psychologist. Grew up in the early 60's cruising Woodward Ave. when the factory cars used to go out there and try out their new stuff against the local hot rodders. Have owned and worked on just about everything from a model A Ford to a 62 Plymouth with dual quads. Several Corvettes, 2 seat Thunderbirds, Studebakers (including an Avanti), Corvair, MG TD, A, B, Midget etc. Had to have at least one rotary so I got an RX-8 when they came out. This summer I picked up a Lotus super 7 clone with a street ported 12a in it. Put it away for the Michigan winter and am looking forward to doing some autoX next spring. Been racing sailboats for years so my summer weekends are pretty busy.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all you other 7 owners around the country. With the way our winter is going hope to have an early spring and get both my and my fathers 85 (GSL and GS) out of storage in a few months.

Nice idea. My name is Bob. Cars, boats, cycles, lawnmowers, watches, clothes dryers, or anything else that runs, I like to play with! Have always been fascinated by mechanical things. Have owned many Little British cars, (MG, Triumph), several Porsches, various trucks and currently two RX7s. The one in the garage now is an '84 SE 13B. Will become a DE and Autocross car when it is ready, but it will also serve as a rolling restoration project. The other is a 1982 GSL that looks like it was only driven on perfect days. This may go to a concourse level project in the next few years. For now, it sits in storage, waiting it's turn. That car will be a best of show when it's done!!
My Bio? Happily married for 27 years, yes to the same person! Have a 16 year old son, one dog, three cats and a big family who all think I got dropped on my head when I was young. I make my living as a Dentist. Have done so for twenty years, and intend to continue for some time. Love to fish, hunt, shoot skeet, trap and sporting clays.
I chose the Mazda because of several reasons, the biggest being that I have never worked on a rotary engine before. Can't wait to rip into it!! Also, the car looks like it will make a good track car for Watkins Glen near my house. I want to start to learn to drive this year, and I will need a car that is balanced and powered correctly. My current "other" car is a Porsche Carrera which of course I have modified the hell out of. It is actually not the best vehicle to learn to drive in, as it is really powerful. The tendency in these is to use the right foot too much on the track. The Mazda is a better choice for learning how to carry speed instead of just bully the car through turns. There are a bunch of nice, affordable track modifications that are available as well, so I am looking forward to this season down there.

Hey guys, my name if you didn't guess is Josh. I'm a 20 year old student on my way into mechanical engineering. I have two very expensive habits, first and worse is cars, second is guitars. I'm a soldier in the Army reserve where my job is guitarist (yep, thats a job MOS 42R109T ) and spent the last few months as active Army on a Navy base. At least guitars pay for my college! I love cars and it seems I have a soft spot for different; of my 4 cars there isn't a normal engine among them. Two Subaru Impreza's (boxer engine), 84' Volkswagen Rabbit (diesel), 85' GSL-SE (non-functioning rotary). I've had a love for RX7's ever since a Subaru friend showed me a torn down 13b. Art isn't in the body lines, it's in the engineering under the hood! I'm working on making it run, and then paint, and then on to autocross and scaring children with my backfires!

I don't believe I have done this yet. I am Patrick, an 18 year old high school senior from Columbus, OH. I first got into RX-7's because of the rotary. I just fell in love with the FB's body. I play bass, and work on computers. I work at the local grocery stores, puttin your grooming things on shelves.

I'm new, just made my first post here. My name is Jason and I'm in Orlando but I'm originally from Memphis. I'm 31 and I currently drive a 2003 VW turbo. I'm looking at an 85 GSL SE, mostly because my very first car was an 85 GSL.

I've unstuck this post because it's gotten quite large and unweildly, with a great many posts by people who no longer frequent here. If you folks find it a useful tool, PM me and maybe we can start another or I can clean this one up.

not sure how "useful" it is, but i do find it novel. since the thread itself causes problems, is it possible to start, sticky and lock a thread that links directly to it - with a brief description, of course of it's purpose for new guys.

other than that, i guess trimming it would be the next best option. i volunteer to help if there is anything that a non-moderator can do to assist as i'm sure it will be a time-consuming pain-in-the-tush! :)

My name Maikel. Im Costa Rican been living in Texas since 86. As a little kid the first time I saw the FB, I completely fell in love with the body style. As I grew up I bought my first one when I was 16. Once I learned a little about the rotary power,I loved even more. This is very cool way of sharing information with other rotay fans. Im 30 years old now and still in love with this cars like it was the first day. I currently own a 85 GSL SE which Im working on. Mechanic wise is in very good shape but I need a paint job and few accessories like a front air dam and a targa band. I also have a 91 convertable which Im also fixing up. I just bought a ground affect body kit. Looks very nice. I done the whole interior, just waiting on the paint job too. Love the attention that this cars receive when they are in nice shape. If anybody knows about a targa band that I can buy just write me. Keep the rotary spirit alive.
