Fuji Racing ITBs Finally In :D

5 Attachment(s)
Well the big boys are finally in:D :D:D:D:D

Had the biggest grin on my face today. So as mentioned these are from Fuji Racing, Jimmy is a great guy to talk to and very knowledgeable of his product. They're 47mm bodies, with 70mm air horns, along with TPS and pigtail, OER fuel rail, and Pipercross sock filters.

Enough talk now and to the pictures.

Nice. I plan on getting Fuji ITB's for my Miata when I pick it up here within the next few weeks.

kapn krunch 08-29-07 11:37 AM

if you dont mind how much did those run you

dj55b 08-29-07 11:39 AM

Not at all, I meant to post it in my first thread anyway, everything came to 705$ including shipping. Thats for everything pictured

2wankel 08-29-07 12:08 PM

Nice !!!! :bigthumb: What thespec on the motor? Is it your SP 12A you have in your sig?

dj55b 08-29-07 12:19 PM

Yup going on the car in my sig ... hopefully I can increase my HP and Torque numbers a bit ... but I'm more interested in the throttle response of the ITB's.

82transam 08-29-07 12:44 PM

Do you have a link to where you bought these? they look really good, might be something I'd want to do on my car as well. What kind of ECU will you run with this?

dj55b 08-29-07 12:48 PM

Sorry that was suppose to also be in my first post. The link to them is this:

http://www.fuji-racing.com/

As for standalone, I have the megasquirt. Its mostly assembled, but I really can't do any testin because I don't have the gastank with intank pump that Trochoid is supplying me along with the new shell. Once they're in all the tuning will start.

82transam 08-29-07 01:04 PM

Ok thanks, So I guess you have to call in order to actually buy parts off this site? Clicking on the rotary ITB link just brings up a small picture...
what kind of intake manifold is used for this? Can't wait to see it installed, bet it be a good upgrade!

dj55b 08-29-07 01:20 PM

Ya he's just redoing his website too, He likes to have that interaction with the customer.

kgray 08-29-07 03:06 PM

Looks like someone needs to get finished with a shell! lol Glad to see things coming together for you sam. Are you starting out N/A?

kapn krunch 08-29-07 03:42 PM

im guessing that you are going to run rather large injectors due to only having two injectors vs 4

dj55b 08-29-07 09:00 PM

Thanks for the compliments guys

Kgray - Ya I'll be running NA for probably a year or so, till i get things properly sorted out with the Standalone and learning all this FI stuff. After that, it will be my rotrex supercharger with its 2 speed transmission.

Kap Krunch- I'll be running 2 x 720 cc injectors, easier to work with right now as oppose to staging injectors. Besides, GSL-Se came stock with 2 so it should work pretty well. If I need more when I get my supercharger I can either machine them, machine in the Intake manifold, or to be super cool have 2 injectors setup right infront of the bodies as it will be side draft.

nick812 08-29-07 09:10 PM

ok for 700+is there anything else you need other than injectors? This is the TB i have been looking for.

kapn krunch 08-29-07 09:24 PM

ill be keeping an eye on the install, may want to attempt this later in the year

Dan_s_young 08-29-07 09:26 PM

Looking good Sam. I'm waiting on a gas tank as well :D.

Great seeing your parts coming in, I wish I could have stuff arriving quicker over here...

Directfreak 08-29-07 09:41 PM

For a normally asiprated setup, I think you picked one of the best options available..

For Boost: ->This One

thats a awsome site directfeak

Nick182 - You will also need some other following:

Injectors - 200$
Standalone - anywhere from 200-1500$ range ...
Wiring and sensors - 300-400$ (including wideband)
Intake Manifold - 150$
Gaskets - 30$
Tuning - ~300$ (or free if you do most of it yourself to a good point)
Fuel injection pump - 100$
Modding gas tank to either intank pump or just having bigger line ~ 200$
Fuel lines 3/8" recommended both ways - 30$

So as you can see its quite a bit of supporting mods and is by no means cheap nor that easy for an amateur, which i know you're not but I'm just saying. Also labor if you can't do some of the stuff yourself.

All in all Its close to really 2000$ and plus for everything.

82transam 08-30-07 10:22 AM

Guess you missed my last question ;) What kind of intake manifold will you be using and where did you get it? Nice looking setup, can't wait to see how you make out with it...

dj55b 08-30-07 12:39 PM

Sure did miss that question ... the intake manifold is going to be a Racing beat 2 piece side draft. The pattern on the ITBs are for the Side draft style.

Its good that I have a base dyno graph to work from too ( well its not off the stock, but the holley setup)

1. Injectors are you just using the 2 in the intake or when you did the rebuild did you use an SE center plate?

2. Standalone your Using A MS right?

3. I already got the manifold what misc gaskets are we talking about just intake to block and carb to intake?

4. Tank and lines I am thinking about up grading anyway and I would run an out of the tank pump.

5. Tuning would be done by LMS just like ducks on a dyno.

dj55b 08-30-07 09:35 PM

1) No Se Plates here ... they're the ones on the ITBs.

2) Yes I will be using a Megasquirt as its the cheapest way and basically just as good as most competition if not better in some areas.

3) Yup those will be the gaskets

4) That another option, the reason I liked the intank pump is because of its lower noise levels.

5) LMS? Not sure what that stands for, but wideband and EGT will be basically my feedback for trying to get the car running at optimal performance.

82transam 08-31-07 07:23 AM

You'll like the in tank fuel pump setup. I haven't actually driven my T2 swap with that tank yet, but its run a few times, and the pump is very quiet, even with no interior in the car as of yet and you can barely hear it running.
