https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...uel+pump+relay ok... i looked at this thread. and the relay has three black wire to it and one blue wire. I have a pic to show where the wires are. Could i use the relay to have a cutoff switch? and how do i go about to rewire? |
you throw the relay away, and connect a switch instead. One of the cables out of the switch goes to the upper left connection, the other to the middle low. Now you have complete control over when the fuel pump operates. Capisce?

why throw away a relay. leave it there to protect your circuit. You can either put a switch on the relay's controller (I cant remember the color but its in the on-line diagram) OR put a switch on the negative wire.

In my 80 there were only two wires. That made it really easy to wire a switch. I guess I'm just lucky.

Could i just pull out the fuse to the fuel pump. and if i could is it this one?
|
i just unplug a wire from the pump. this wouldnt work on one without the slip on terminals, i suppose.

Unbolt the fuse box from the car, cut one of the wires going to the 20A engine fuse, extend the 2 ends of wire to a switch, screw the fuse box back to the car.

With the REPU I always start it with the pedal on the floor when it is hot. B |
