First rx7

So 2days ago I bought a 1980 rx7. When I went about insuring it the insurance company said my vin was invalid because it isn't 17 digits long. Has anyone else had this problem?

The protocol for a 17 digit VIN was not in place until the 1981 model year. Until then, pretty much anything went. I once owned a 1973 vehicle with a 6 digit VIN. Most likely the gamete that produced the zygote for the fetus of your insurance contact was years away from existence in 1980... Yeah, you probably shouldn't bring that up. Anyway, I suggest you gently remind your insurance contact of the facts regarding VIN history, and take it up the food chain if necessary.

Nice ride. Let's see the inside.

Nothing prettier than the back end of a 79 or 80.
