i have so far a racing beat header a bonez high flow cat. and a sebring exhaust....all i need is the piping and the welding job done, and my questions to all of you is...

1. will it be loud?
2. will my 7 pass emissions?

1. I don't know are you using a muffler from a Sebring or is that a company?
2. No you will not pass smog in California with a header on your 7 it deletes some of the smog equipment so you will not pass.

CA smog

You can not use an older engine in a newer body. If you use all the smog gear for the body you may slip by.

im using a sebring racing exhaust....and damn, why not?? isent the high flow cat good enough to help it pass? i was told that it would...by an ex exhaust specialist but maybe he doesent know rotarys....? in any case that sucks....is there any way to have a good set up that will gain hp and help pass emissions? i dont really have a hook up for passing smog...so any info would help me....thanks to all that respond..

nope, not gonna pass. w/o air pump pumpin air into the cat, and weren't there like 2 cats on stock exhausts? been awhile since i've seen one.. :D

AcidAngel7477 02-28-06 07:10 PM

your prolly right, yeah there were three cats on the stock exhaust....but i think im going to go through with it anyway i might have a hook up on smog write offs....heh
so yeah i think im going to put this theroy to the test too after i get the exhaust done im going to get it smoged and see if it passes.....(i dont know im curious)

Stick your stock exhaust on it, pass emissions, go home bolt up your aftermarket setup

How far is Whittier from San Francisco?

Roundabout 02-28-06 09:04 PM

do they just test when you renew your registration? I have always wondered about this...

justint5387 02-28-06 09:30 PM

Somebody told me that you can pass smog with a RB street header...

Rx Seven 02-28-06 10:23 PM

I dont think it is possible to pass with any header on a first gen. If you look at the RB site they say at the bottom that for all headers for Cali are for Racing/Off Road use only.

whittier is pretty far from were you are, im sure....and why? you got something to sell me?
im sure its possible that you can pass with a header, its all about the cats, im sure if you have a brand new stock cat setup and a rb header you could pass no problem (that is if the stock cats would bolt up to the header) in my opinion....
you know what i was thinking? what if i put two high flow cats a header and an exhaust? that would rule..huh?
i want to try but i only bought one high flow....heh
i really hate ca emissions it sucks, japan has all the good stuff.....lol
