engine problems?

perhaps I'm a hypochondriac when it comes to my 7, but today I was traveling on the highway, and a little honda gave the ol, honk honk zoom. So I obliged dropping from fifth down to 4th down to third and floor. I felt something wrong....not a drop out feeling, not really much, but when the race was over fifth gear felt a little rougher than usual. I cut all music and rolled down a window, and listened carefully couldn't hear anything really wrong. When I got to my driveway, I revved it a little bit, and listened I heard a small sort of scraping sound as my RPM's spun down. it was sort of a very faint shing shing shing. (very faint) My first thought was OH GOD an Apex, but I had never heard what a blown rotor sounds like. when I cut the engine the low purrrrr I love to hear when I cut the 7 was absent. I hopped on the Youtube and searched for "blown Apex seal" and got videos of 7's with blown Apex's Mine doesn't sound nearly as bad as them! (few!) I dunno perhaps I'm just overacting, like I said didn't hear anything "drop" no leaks, slight roughness in fifth, and a very faint "shing" sound as Rpm's slow down in Neutral. Hopefully whatever it is will go away by morning but knowing my luck.....hope I'm just overreacting. (lost the race due to strange feeling in back of head )

have you driven like that many times? You could have rattled something external loose.

Any loss of power? leaks? just the noise?

With the reputation these engines have, I think many first time owners (myself as well) can be a little apprehensive.

I lost a rotor on mine a few weeks ago. It went from normal to boom in 2 seconds. Hate to say it but if you are hearing a new sound thats setting off your spidey sense its likely something is wrong.

ok now it's having slight idling problems, and before you ask, No it is not the bouncing arm of death, it idles where it should sometimes but often the idle speed drops down to almost nothing, and today it was idling perfect and I was low alrighty...and then it just dropped down to like 100!!!! I repeat it is not bouncing it just drops really low. the idle speed isn't the main problem, because sometimes it idles fine....I just dunno what to think!
