Electrical Problem. Please Help

I have an 85 gs. My battery died with the head lights up. I replaced the battery when it died with an interstate battery. After, the lights wont go down, the fog lights, interior, and tail won't turn on. However, the turn signals, brake lights, and head lights do work. I checked the fuses and can't think of anything else except a relay. I was hoping someone had an idea because I really dont want to tear into that job.

4 wires in the X shaped retractor plug near each retractor motor. White/red comes directly from the "Retractor" fusible link and should always have 12V. 12v to the Red/yellow wire from the combo switch or the dash switch makes the headlights go down. You did make sure the dash switch is off, right? 12v to the red makes the headlights go up. Green/yellow connects the two retractor motors together. You can also put the headlights down manually. There is a **** covered by a rubber cap on each retractor motor. If you unplug the retractor plug and turn the **** the headlight will go down.

Can't think of a connection to the tail and illumination lights. I would check the continuity of your fusible links and the terminals in the link box. The terminals can be so corroded that full 12v does not make it through even when the link is not blown. I'd also suggest double checking all the fuses. No separate relays for any of the things you mentioned except maybe the fog lights. Are they aftermarket?

Buss fuses. They come in many styles, I got about 50 of them from junkyards.

With these, you can tell if they are blown.

EDIT: Looks like these, but they have a slit down the middle. You will know when you see them. Get 1 60A and 2 30A and you will be golden.
